Daffodils... sunny harbingers of Spring bringing joy to the world when they bloom!
Today's table was inspired by these happy, sunny flowers.
My dining room table is set for a girls afternoon luncheon. Usually small group luncheons are held around the kitchen table, but I don't have one right now... I gave it away as a part of my kitchen makeover. The new one won't be here for another 6 weeks.
The heads of the dining room table were left vacant, we are sitting across from eachother. It is a much cozier setting.
The April Cornell tablecloth and matching napkins work so well with the yellow daffs. Yellow, blue and white are GORGEOUS together! This is my very favorite color combination! The linens from April Cornell are so beautifully designed. I am one of her biggest fans!
Blue straw placemats are topped with a stack of dishes that reflect the color theme. These dishes have been replayed many times on Tablescape Thursday. I just love how many different looks I can get out of the same dishes! As usual my "leaf and berry" plates make an appearance.
The sweet yellow flower plates and bowls are just the right element to top off the stack!
The flatware has a smooth ivory handle. It is the prettiest butter yellow.
A blue rimmed goblet was a Goodwill find. They have such a pleasing shape and are almost the exact same color as the placemats.
Blue and white cups and saucers are from a flea market and find a new home gracing this springtime table. They were just a few of the treasures I scooped up in a big box for $4.00.
Little potted tete-a-tete daffodils sit at each place. They act as place cards and a little spring gift for each of the girls.
Each name is printed on the back side of a garden stake and become a name card... and instructional care.
Making a pretty presentation is so important. There is something to be said for thoughtfulness... with a WOW factor!
The take-home arrangement rests on a classic blue willow plate.
All four pots of daffs make the table seem like a little garden!
And what would a garden be without bunnies? A tall white rabbit sits on his hind legs in a mossy patch in the center of the table. He is peeking through the daffodils.
And little bunnies abound around the table!
Even the salt and pepper shakers are little white bunnies!
A mossy basket lined with an April Cornell napkin will hold mini muffins.
Dessert will be served on blue and white transferware plates. I LOVE putting dessert dishes on the table.
The table is full of Springtime elements and sunny colors... even if the weather is still cold and rainy.

ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne. Love your table and the stacked plates absolutely make my heart swoon. I'm a plate gal and the more they are stacked for some reason the more I love them. It is easier to have more plates when you stack all of them too. Hahaha....that's how I get a way with having so many plates...I stack them. Love love love all the details on your table from the silverware to the settings to the centerpiece...oh my...so wonderful I can't stand it!

I love everything about this table. I need to borrow the napkins because I have the table runner to match your table cloth and I just love the colors. It does really take on the look of a garden with the daffodils scattered around. So very springy and pretty! We were 75 degrees yesterday and this morning it was snowing. Ugh.
