OLIVE BASKET-GET THE LOOK FOR LESS

Several years ago, before I knew what an olive basket was, I found one at a local Antique Market. I really liked it very very much! It was unusual and pleasing all at the same time.

Unfortunately, I passed it up because it was $35.00. UGH! If I only knew what a great buy the basket was and how popular they would be right now I would have scooped it up and danced joyfully out of the shop!

Since then, I see great vintage olive baskets used in decor everywhere! And the more popular they are getting the more expensive they are to buy!

So I jumped on the olive basket lovin' bandwagon and bought one at Walmart...

ORGANIZING THE BOOKSHELVES

January feels like "organizing" to me! After taking down the Christmas decorations I am ready to sweep the house clean of clutter and get organized!

My bookshelves are a constant frustration! They can be seen from the kitchen and breakfast room and always look busy and cluttered! There is so much going on in my other rooms, I wanted my eye to "rest" when it looked at this end of the family room!

So, I filled the bookshelves with identical chunky baskets (Pottery Barn Outlet) sporting number tags ...

FALL GATHERING BASKET

Today is the day when the NIP comes to September! The windows are flying open to let that glorious fresh welcomed cool air in!

Fall... as far as decorating...comes slowly to StoneGable and evolves like the turning of the leaves... softly at first... then building up... a crescendo of color...

No pumpkins until October. September is for leaves and twigs of bittersweet and autumn kissed natural elements!

My big gathering basket filled with faux bittersweet finds a home on my kitchen table!

I love this big wide basket. It fills my table with early signs of Autumn!

PILLOW BASKET

Here at StoneGable we are drowning in pillows! Fluffy pillows, patterned pillows, down pillows, square pillows, big pillows, striped pillows, seasonal pillows... ... Oh, I have a love affair with pillows!

Loving pillows does have it's down side... where do I put all their pretty fluffiness when I need to kick them out off their home on the bed... or sofa... or chair? They litter the floor or teeter pyramid style on coffee tables, dressers, bookshelves...
