Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone! I hope you are having a fun "unofficial" first weekend of Summer 2012!
StoneGable is full of family and friends and we are eating ourselves silly!
Tomorrow you will find us at the corner of the Creamery in Strasburg, waving our flags as we watch the Strasburg Memorial Day Parade! This is one of my favorite local activities of the whole year!!! A real slice of Americana!
We will be wearing our poppies proudly and clapping in appreciation for the Civil War reenactors, military soldiers, cub scout troops and local bands!
We will OOOHHHH AND AAAHHHH at the local Fair Queen as she rides by in her sparkly gown and cover our ears when passing fire engines blow their horns!
Much of our small community will be out on the sidewalks of this scenic town keeping the tradition of the Strasburg Memorial Day Parade alive! We remember our brave fallen heroes... and we honor them!!!

ReplyDeleteHI Good Morning,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and have shared it with several friends. You have wonderful taste and love for what ever you are doing. God does indeed shine through you. I love you adding scripture to your posts as well.
I travel 3 hours to my sister in law's house for her July 4th celebration. She always wants everyone to bring something. Since for us we have to pack up the car I never come up with anything that great. Icing on cup cakes are melted and falling off by the time we get there even with the air on.
Could you please send me a receipe for something really special to take for this event? Coming from you I know it will taste good and be pretty too to serve to my husband's large family in the heart of the summer.
Thank you!
