For those of us who say no, think hard...
I don't think of myself as a collector, and if asked I would say I fall into the "no" category. But, that is not necessarily so! It has been said that if you have 3 of a kind it is a collection. With that in mind I do have a few things that I collect and make my heart go pitter pat!
Dishes are my biggest obsession and collection. I would say I have more dishes than most, but not as much as the average tablescaper.
I collect white dishes...
Peach lustreware... This is probably a legitimate collection, as true collections go. I have been picking up pieces of this pearlized dishware for 2 decades! There is just something about it's pretty color...sigh!
\
And pitchers, a recent flight of fancy! White ones in particular.
I have white pitchers here and there all over my house! These recently purchases pitchers sit above my kitchen cabinets.
Small ones on one side...
And bigger ones (plus an old ironstone coffee pot) on the top of another cabinet.
Here at StoneGable pitchers hold more than liquids. They are the keepers of silver flatwares.
But, some sweet pitches are best holding flowers!
This is the newest member of my collection family. Picked up at Bed, Bath and Beyond while looking for a wedding shower gift, it has a nice simple style and was very inexpensive!
That's it... well almost.
Here's just a couple pieces of my blue and white collection!
On my collection wishlist is brown and white transferware... this one lonely piece would surely enjoy some company!
So, what do you collect? I would love to know!

Peach lustre ware was one of our shop best sellers. Beautifully presented, love the peach toppings. You certainly do have a collection, Yvonne. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
TTFN ~
Marydon
Cookie cutters (goes without saying...), vintage jewelry, vintage valentines. I'm with you on the brown transfer ware - love it.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lisa
Love transferware (as you can see from my header). Would love to start on the lavender/purple but yikes...the cost! Love all white dinnerware. So clean and classic and can't resist adding to it.
ReplyDeleteI have some pearl lustre ware that my husband got when he was young and my sil's were going to throw away.
ReplyDeleteso collections.. oh that would be embarrassing. so I will just pick 3
1. dishes
2. linens
3. lace
and then there are minor assemblies.
xo marlis
Dishes are what I collect most, china actually, I love to find settings to add to existing sets and when I have a place setting for 12, I move on to serving pieces. I have 2 sets of twelve for both of my kids, including serving pieces... problem is they both want the same set, so now I am having to start one collection over. When I get the 2 Christmas sets collected they are just going to have to draw straws of who gets which one, because searching for 24 of anything is down right obsessive!
ReplyDeleteALL of your collections are lovely, Yvonne! I think I like the pitchers the best...they look so pretty on top of your cabinets! If I collect anything, it's vases, some thrifted. some gifts and some I just couldn't walk away from. It's a good excuse to always have flowers in the house!!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Love your collects Ivonne! And I love collect too:
ReplyDeletechina plates
Teaspot
cups for tea

I am swooning over your peach lusterware! I had a cup and saucer at one time, not sure where it went. All your collections are beautiful. I am fond of pitchers, too. Love the idea of putting silverware in them. xo,
ReplyDeleteVery nice pitcher collection. I want more. Love those lusterware dishes.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the white pitchers, Yvonne! I also include white creamers in that as well. I'm sure someone who doesn't understand the draw would think I'm weird. Bunnies. They would be my collecting downfall. Love 'em, but they have to look a certain way {like Bugs Bunny is out, but Fitz & Floyd bunnies are in}.
ReplyDeleteLovely collection of dishes!
ReplyDeleteSo neat what you can do with them.
I have gone in phases as to what I collect. Hats and gloves for awhile. Bells. Vintage clothing.
Hehe furniture always.
Dolls ongoing. Dishes on going.
God bless,
d
Who doesn't love ironstone? I have a pitcher collection too but just one kind of pitcher because it makes it harder to find and keeps my collection in check. Love yours.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your collections Yvonne, especially the pitchers!..,Although I adore all white dishes and I love all transferware also!..,
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to see what you'll post when you are able to add to your brown and white transferware!
Loved the peach and lustreware too!
I collect perfume bottles, teacups and teapots, dishes, and silver, decorative mini shoes and purses and little blown glass fruit, faux sweets and cupcake Christmas ornaments; I especially silver love pretty vanity table accessories. I even have a fondness for magazines and coffee table books, which I must try to curtail. Goodness gracious!
I collect more than I thought; (even egg cups, salt and peppers and cream and sugar sets)!..,
I feature my silver dressing/vanity table accessories often in my Tuesday Tea vignettes,(if you'd care to take a peek in both blogs this week and a few weeks ago also).
Hugs from Wanda Lee
Your one piece of brown transferware is a beauty. It is just the type that I look for to add to my brown transferware collection (about 50 pieces). I love all of your white dishes, too. Sally
ReplyDeleteYour peach lustrewear is GORGEOUS! I do have some Blue Willow that was my grandmother's, but I don't really collect it. I guess you could say I collect books...and kids (I have 5)! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this post!
OMGoodness, it would tyake a BOOK to list my collections (and a tractor trailer to move them:):):) SOME of my collections are: dishes, linens, flatware, blue and white, African pieces, Palm tree anything. Then we have CHRISTMAS.....Oh my! And every other holiday it seems!!!! I wish I had heard about the collection party. I am going to go check it out and see if can still join in!!!! Stay cool in this heat. XO, P
ReplyDeletePS, forgot to mention that my jaw DROPPED when I saw your STACK of the peach lustreware and the white dishes......GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! XO
ReplyDeleteI am drooling over all the white dishes! I have to say that you have inspired me to bring out one of my collections and make it work in the house. I love copper. I have so many pieces of it in the basement packed away too. When you redid your kitchen and talked about adding the things you love, it made me think about all my copper. It's going to be making a comeback here at the farmhouse! I also go all jiggy over Norman Rockwell figurines. My mom collected them and I got hers. I have added to the collection some. Just need to figure out a way to display them throughout the house without it looking like the crazy lady with 50 cats house! Old cameras! they can make my heart skip a beat too. This though is a recent obsession. Ugh, now I got more to add to my to do list! You are such a bad influence! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love your white pitchers and transfer beauties! I collect, now, let's see?! China sets, tea sets, dog figurines, cake stands with pedestals, tablecloths, European porcelains, silver things, Xmas tree ornaments, (every year, I get new ones and etc., etc.....lol! Have a nice rest of the week. Hugs, FABBY
ReplyDeleteLove the lustreware Yvonne, Ma has G-Mom-B's old tea pot and cups. My "truest collection" is Fenton Silvercrest. My largest collection... appears to be tons of cookware-pick the medium:@)
ReplyDeletethis is amazing...I love collecting teapots and teacups and baking supplies...imagine THAT! I also collect smiles and hugs from my 7yr old :)
ReplyDeleteHello Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteyou have such a good eye for nice things. The white dishes are stunning and the peach lustreware looks excellent in that combination. And sure, I am a collector, too and enjoy to see other collections.
Best greetings, Johanna
I love the idea of keeping silver pieces in the pitchers. Looks very nice. One thing I collected while we were stationed in Japan would be Kokeshi dolls. I'm not a doll person, but these are hand crafted and I loved them.
ReplyDeleteI have so many collections, it's getting out of hand! I have Benihana of Tokyo Tiki mugs, transferware in every colour, depression glass, depression era dishes from Staffordshire, England (mostly pastel floral patterns), some old silverplate and vintage mirrors. I also collect ethnic costumes and vintage clothes. The local thrift stores are my second home. Thanks for sharing your collections.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, lovely blog! The peach and white dishes look STUNNING together!! I also like your collection of pitchers. I collect dishes, cobalt glass, Colonial table accessories, clocks, dolls, & tea books~
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteLove your collection of white pitchers! I have a collection of ironstone platters. It all started out innocently with one platter.
Recipes, books, stamps, and cats of all sorts--pictures, stuffed, ceramic, porcelin, brass, etc. etc. Unfortunately, our only living, breathing variety died of old age, and I haven't been able to convince my husband that we really need a couple of new ones. I keep hoping at least one stray starts meowing at our door, but so far, I have had no luck.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, I love your collection of pitchers and the white ironstone! I too love to collect....vintage French copper is my latest obsession and it's when you see so many different pieces together that you appreciate each one more. I love all the pics of your beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteYvonne, love all your beautiful collections! I too am a serial collector, lets see Antique limgoes, I love sterling flatware, trays and soup ladles, love blue and white anything, umm...collect design magazines and books, could litearlly open up my own 2nd hand bookstore. I also don't know it this qualifies for collecting but I love linens, table linens and buy them fairly often so yea, I guess it is also turning into a collection...oh and shoes and bags...lol. YES I know I collect a lot of stuff, but its mostly for the house and its a labor of love! (I sooo miss all my goodies being in storage FOR THREE YEARS AND COUNTING)
ReplyDeleteOlá! A sua louça é muito bonita, eu às adoro na cor branca, e no estilo provençal,ela dá um charme especial em qualquer ocasião à mesa.

Great pitcher collection and I love the transferware, which I collect, too.
ReplyDeleteBabs
Beautiful collections and wonderful photos! I just started collecting spoons.
ReplyDelete-Lynn
Your white collection is particularly beautiful Yvonne. I have a fondness for white too.
ReplyDeleteWe collect English ironstone china in the tea leaf pattern. It was manufactured by several potters, but most of our pieces were made by the Alfred Meakin China Company in England. Alfred Meakin was a distant relative of my husband, whose name is also Meakin.

ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and becoming a new follower! It's always fun to meet someone new! :) I'm just swooning over all of your white dishes. I collect them, too - but don't have alot of room to store any more than what I already have! lol! My other collections? French hemp/linen grain sacks and French body pitchers. And I never knew how much I loved them til I started blogging. lol! :)
ReplyDeletexoxo laurie
You and I like many of the same things. I also have a white pitcher collection and blue and white-and a whole teaset of the pearl lusterware given to me by my aunt when I got married--she brought from China in the 30s....and one of my favorite collections is hall creamers--they are fun to look for in antique or charity shops.
ReplyDeleteI collect dishes and serving pieces. I never thought of myself as a collector but if the rule is 3 or more than I am definitely one. After visiting your blog for the last year I have recently become a " collector" of white dishes and serving pieces. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh my, Yvonne ~ An amazing collection! I just love the white dishware with the touch of texture, your photographs are stunning!!! I do collect alot of herbs!:) However I really love to collect linens and "mishmashed" teacups.
ReplyDeleteHugs Rosemary...
Loving your pictures of your fine collections. I have some hull and some blue and white dishes and pretty white pottery too. My favorite is my vintage tablecloths.
ReplyDeleteWell, Among all my one of favorite collections is hall creamers, they are fun to look for in antique or charity shops. Those white jugs are very fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I don't consider myself a collector but I may have to rethink that a bit. You collection of white dishes and pitchers is just stunning. I'm really drawn to the white pitchers. They're very sculptural, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteYou know I love your blue/white collection, Yvonne! And that lustreware- OMGee..... that is gorgeous!! I must be living under a rock because I've never seen it before. I have a much smaller collection than yours of white pitchers- many of them are from stores like Tuesday Morning, TJ's, and Marshall's. They are just such a fun collectible. :-) ~ Sue
ReplyDeleteYour collections are just beautiful, Yvonne...and somehow I think you'll be adding to your brown transferware soon!
ReplyDeleteOh my, Yvonne! What amazing pieces you have!!! I like them all! I have recently started to collect white dishes and blue transferware. I love brown too, but managed to find a single pitcher.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and lovely note today.

Hello Yvonne - How kind of you to leave a message on my post. I have stopped by to see your wonderful collection of china. I love it all. I also love your blog and have been skipping back and forth collecting tips. I am a stayer!
ReplyDeletePS this is what I love about blogging, lovely to meet a new kindred spirit.
You have a beautiful and considered collection of china, and I particularly like your display of pitchers . . to my own collections . . where do I start . . there is the garden collection of magical creatures . . my collection of orbs, spheres, and globes . . owls . . dragons . . bears . . books . . Yankee Candles . . fabrics (for I cannot bear to part with them) . . do lavender plants count, for my garden is full and I cannot resist making space for just one more . .
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh...that peach lustreware is fantastic!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe peach lustre ware is gorgeous! Love your collections....photos are beautiful. I really don't collect that many dishes, but I do love amassing books and anything to do with gardening!
ReplyDeletelove, love your dishes.
ReplyDeleteI am coming over from Suzanne's at Privet and Holly.
Fondly,
Glenda (link #27)
Yvonne, we have recently began to collect white dishes. Your collections are beautiful. Hopefully one day we will have such a grand collection. Wishing you a great day!
ReplyDeleteAngela and Renee
Hi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteI collect perfume bottles among other things. But since I've seen your collection of white pitchers, I do believe I'll start collecting those!
I love white dishes, too, but ironstone to be more specific. My favorite is what I've got from Homer Laughlin's line of Vintage Rose. I love the delicate swirly edges of this type more so than just the solid, simple lines of many ironstone pieces but I won't turn them away as I've got a few of those in my collection as well. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos of all your pretty things, Yvonne! I love how you've stacked & grouped them together beautifully.
ReplyDeleteYour Peach lustreware is so luminescent it almost glows. I rarely see any for purchase in my shopping travels.
Thank you for sharing all your treasures with us.
fondly,
Rett
LOVE the white pitchers, Yvonne. Now, each time I see one it will remind me of you.
ReplyDeleteI adore the brown and white!
ReplyDeleteYvonne, the pitchers are delightful and you pick the ones with the best handles! ♥Olive
ReplyDelete:-)
ReplyDeleteYou definitely are a collector...and your dishes and pitchers are lovely. I like the crisp white which is a perfect backdrop for any meal (and not distracting) and easily dressed up or down...fancy or casual. I also love your peach lusterware. Both the white and peach play off each other so very well.
lovely....
Have a beautiful day
Hi Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your collections,
even if you didn't set
out to be a collector : )
The peach dishes are
particularly unique and
I can see how they could
become addictive. Well,
I could see how ALL of
your collections became
addictive! That said,
I think your brown and
white transferware DOES
need some friends!!!
Thanks for joining the
party and letting us
peek in your window!
xx Suzanne
PS: How handsome is
that son of yours??
And just as sweet as
he is good looking.
Now Yvonne, you had me a little worried there. You don't think of yourself as a collector? You certainly collect dishes. And how many sets of flatware do you have? And table linens, not to mention...recipes. But for a true minimalist, I think we're all collectors.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
You have an amazing collection! thank you for sharing the post!! It was a pleasure visiting your site!! Take care!
