White Tea and Hot Pink Roses:
Christmas is just behind us and New Years Eve is a day away, and I'm in the mood for a cup of tea with a few close friends. I wanted a serene setting away from the hustle and bustle to regroup and calm down, before the second wave of family arrives for a Rockin' New Year's Eve!
The inspiration for this buffet tablescape were these hot house roses. I wanted to showcase them by keeping the rest of the decor soft and white and light.
These roses are bright little blooms! Spilling over a Mikasa cream pitcher, they take center stage in this tablescape.
Draping a white tablecloth on the mahogany buffet keeps the background subdued and unnoticed. Using elements of the same color but different values gives subtle depth and interest to this snowy white tablescape...it also let's the roses POP!
One white goodie stands out along with the roses. Who could resist these miles-of-whipped- frosting cupcakes? And yes, this frosting is as light and delicious as it looks. One for each of us having tea!
They deserve to be put on a pedestal, don't you think?
Tea is poured from a Mikasa Italian Countryside tea pot. Perched on a worn white pedestal, it is ready to give us a spot of tea.
Another pot of tea is hot and ready when needed under this white-on-white, handmade tea cozy.
Antique silver keepers, bought long ago at an auction, with gold fleur de lis and edging, hold silver spoons and dessert forks.
White Artichokes fit the color scheme.
A cup of tea and a demure vintage napking awaits a guest.
Tea, cupcakes and girl-talk... come, join us. There's room for 1 more!
I am joining Susan at Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday- it's like a "dish parade".
Go see!
Just beautiful and so relaxing! The pink roses are so pretty. I love the frosting on those cupcakes....yum!

I collect Ironstone, but I've been slacking in my quest. After viewing these pictures, I'm filled with glee and dreaming of teapots. Joy, joy, joy. I love the architecture of the cupcakes and pottery, with that exquisite splash of rose-pink.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so lovely. The cupcakes take me away from the elegant. LOL. I see me biting into one and getting frosting everywhere but not caring. Yummmy! Everything is so pretty, but then it always is. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteYvonne:
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and so serene. I wish I was closer and could pop over for a cup of tea and one of those wonderful cupcakes. Could you get any more frosting on them?!?!?
Happy New Year.

Yvonne, as I was sitting here enjoying every view you shared with us, my e-mail popped up that you had left me a message. Deja vu that we are visiting each other at the same moment in time. And, to make this even more cool, I am sipping my coffee from an Italian Countryside mug while I read.
ReplyDeleteYou have everything I love here - white, soft linens, that gorgeous artichoke and pink roses. It is everything needed to make this girl happy. Except for one of those to die for cupcakes. OM goodness! I must have one of those in order to make it through my day.
My new favorite magazine! Your blog! Always so beautiful and inspiring! Thank you for all you do to brighten my life!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

Yvonne, you are a very, very dangerous lady with those cupcakes!!! Yes, they are definitely pedestal-worthy, but they wouldn't have made it to the pedestal at this house. Nay! Nay! = A certain magpie's waist would have been the proud owner. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous post. Loved every pink and white bit of it.
XO,
Sheila :-)
This is beautiful. Your photography is amazing!
ReplyDeletebeautiful dishes and Photographs....could I please have a cupcake?
ReplyDeleteHey People
ReplyDeleteI wanted to share with you a AMAZING site I just came across teaching Krav Maga like they teach it in the Israeli Army (IDF) If you guys have seen the Tv Show called Fight Quest you would have seen their chief instructor Ran Nakash there featured on their Krav Maga segment. Anyways, let me know what you think. Is training via the internet something you would do?
all the best
Fred
You guys know about having females lookin in your mouth like ewww? I bet you do that's why don't want people seeing you in person. lol looking for drugs and money because you need dental work immediately. anyway, i'm not selling anything or anything but i do want to encourage everyone to look up veneers. google it or find it somewher or ask your dentist. it is the freaking best thing the world.
ReplyDeleteall that tasty candy that those intelligent people at mars sold you tricked you and got you and your mama running around looking like the wicked witches and wizards of the west.
You go to the denstist and get a cleaning but what the hell is that going to do? You've got caved in teeth, appalachan mountain teeth, rocky mountain teeth, and general crackhead related teeth.
It's rough on you I know but it's true. I used to be the same way. I did happen to spend a couple g's on some veneers in atlanta ga (google it if you're not from the US). Now I do give a happy smile on every occasion i meet a face, in abstract to the past where it's hide the smile! But anyway some of you might definitely need to undergo such a process.
Another important factor is, it's a great way to continue the medical industry and make sure we have motivated dentists to come up with new innovative ways to fix our teeth. veneers is a big step over gold and silver teeth replacements which are gaudy and look crazy.
