HOW TO ROAST THE MOST SCRUMPTIOUS TURKEY EVER

I have been making Thanksgiving Turkey for decades... some were better than others along the way.

But ever since I found the "cheesecloth" method, my turkeys have been perfectly roasted and succulently moist! Not bragging... just truth!

I say, no one needs to eat dry turkey! I'll show you now I make mine...

I have a special place in my heart for Thanksgiving!  I love the season, the food, the family and friends, the reason for celebrating and the preparation!

I also love our family traditions that have formed around this All-American holiday!

Traditions are a way of passing along our beliefs.... or customs... our ways.  They help us to belong and connect. They are a beautiful thread that stitches the heart and minds of one generation to the next.


We are folks that love and celebrate tradition, especially around the holidays...

I was a busy girl yesterday... baking pies for Thanksgiving!

Pumpkin and Pecan...

Here's a peek and some recipes...and some helpful tips...

The pie dough I use comes from Martha Stewart. Her Pate' Brisee is one I have used for years... and it is the best, really! So easy, flaky and it hold up well!

A Thanksgiving Blessing-

I come into my study in the early morning hour while it is still dark, and sit down with my Bible to read and give thanks on this day of Thanksgiving- I am deeply aware of the blessings I have and I am filled with joy and gratitude! The upstairs bedrooms are full this early morning- full of my children and family held so dear, still sweetly asleep.

No big show-and-tell table this day. Just a quiet picture to paint my feeling of peace before everyone else in the house gets up. ( I will post complete table in January)  I love this time... just me and God. Talking and listening and breathing in His presence!
