ANOTHER LOOK AT MUMS AND SOUTHERN STYLE HOME DECOR GIVEAWAY

Let's take another look at the lowly mum!  



Used with some thought, Mum's are really lovely flowers! I think they have been quite maligned! 

Is it because they are considered the cheap flower in a bouquet... known as "hardy".... have a very distinctive smell... or have been primarily used for outdoor use?

Mums are great economical burst of color. I say," bring them inside and let them take center stage"!  This is their season and their time has come!  Use them to add a little happiness to your decor!






I used these pretty green and white mums to brighten up a window sill. Lining them up in little vases makes a sweet arrangement. This would look great on a table too... or on the bathroom sink... or on a shelf.






Take your mums out of those ugly black plastic pots! Repot them. Think outside the container!

And who knows you just might be captivated by these sweet and simple offerings of Autumn!

    I think that the scallop of the edge of the place mats adds such a touch to the table setting as you have photographed them.

    You are right, they do look sweet lined up on a shelf like that. I love mums. I have one mum plant that survived my summer redo. I do keep oogling those large pots of mums in the stores though. Hmmmm....

    Love mums inside. I've always been a fan of them outside, but never really thought to using them inside until a friend recently brought me an adorable arrangement - they put a spring in my step every time I walk by.

    Carnations are another frowned upon inexpensive flower, but they're my favorite. The smell of carnations puts me over the moon!

    I absolutely LOVE mums... they just scream "FALL"! My mother on the other hand can't stand them! However, every fall she always buys me a new batch!!

    I love mums, never thought of them as lowly! I have pink ones that blend in with the impatiens and carry on after I pull the annuals. So many gorgeous colors to enhance these gorgeous Fall days.
