STRAWBERRY LUNCHEON



Local strawberries are at their peak! Red, juicy and so very scrumptious... they have inspired this luncheon table.



My strawberry dishes only come out this time of year to pay homage to the beautiful strawberry.



Pinky, from Designs By Pinky and two other darling ladies are joining me in a strawberry inspired luncheon.

Each place was set with strawberry dinnerware and a big strawberry bowl. A sparkly little Old World Ornament strawberry is a take home gift for each guest! I hope ever time they see it they will remember our fun luncheon!



I would usually spread out a white tablecloth for this tablescape, but this is the first gathering at my new farmhouse kitchen table so I left it bare. Green placemats (HomeGoods) with a white embroidered design anchor each setting. The embroidered design reminds me of strawberry flowers.

What would strawberries be with bees? Napoleon Bee flatware (Horchow) supports the strawberry theme! 



Simple red woven napkins with bright green napkin rings continue the strawberry color scheme. Who said red and green were only for Christmas?  Don't they look delicious together?






Red goblets (Williamsburg Charter House) wait for water and beautiful French Countryside goblets by Mikasa will hold StoneGalble iced tea. The very kind people at Mikasa were nice enough to send me these gorgeous goblets. They are my new favorite glasses!!!!



The centerpiece is a trio of chippy green vases (Candle Barn, Intercourse Pa) spilling over with fragrant white sweetheart roses and astilbe. The center vase rests on a wrought iron pedestal to give the arrangement some height.





A little strawberry sugar bowl and creamer match the dinnnerware.



Coffee is served in white mugs (HomeGoods). There is something so attractive about the shape and handle of these large mugs. Priced very reasonably they are a true bargain!



Dessert plates, forks and napkins are set out on a white pedestal. I love putting these elements on my table! They are like a promise of sweet things to come!





It's time to light the candles (Olde Millhouse Shop) and pour the drinks...







My friends are on there way!

    Tonight Warren's Mom popped over with a strawberry pie. We ate and chatted. It was lovely.

    I also like to leave our table bare with just the use of placemats most of the time. Love the look of natural wood. Your strawberry table is full of inspiration for me. I recently picked up some strawberry table linens with a table in mind for a future post. ~ Sarah

    It's strawberry season in Ohio also. We had a strawberry patch when our kids were little, my daughter's birthday is June 7th, and we always had plenty of strawberries for her birthday. Enjoy!

    You've done up the strawberry theme to perfection! Everything is exquisite! I really like how you tied red and green together making it look fresh and not at all like Christmas! How lucky your invited guests were to be able to dine at this table and eat that food! I'm sure it was a thousand times better than ANY restaurant!

    Okay, I'm crawling through the computer all the way from Italy to come and eat that gorgeous strawberry tart! I love the festive VIBRANCY of this homage to strawberries! It makes me nostalgic for home in Kentucky when growing up we grew our own strawberries AND went to Walton Farm to pick tons and tons and then Mama and I would make strawberry preserves!

    How lovely! I am always drawn to strawberries...I have been told that my maiden name in French means "little strawberries"! Maybe that is the reason! What blessed friends you have to lunch with you at a table like this! Happy Day!

    I just love this tablescape! It's full of inspiration for me. I don't have a lot of dishes but I do like to make my table welcoming and fun so you have given me lots of ideas to use. Thanks for sharing. The menu sounds great and both tarts, although very different, sound yummy!

    Your table is beautiful, Yvonne. The red and green are so lovely! I just love strawberries. Twenty-six yrs ago we were a few short weeks away from our wedding. I was planning a "strawberry kitchen". I got so many lovely strawberry things at my bridal showers. Our strawberries are out in July. Can't wait!

    I just love strawberries! Years ago, I lived in 2 different houses where I put strawberry wallpaper in the kitchens. I had a lot of strawberry accessories. Your post reminded me of those kitchens. That asparagus tart looks delicious! I'm going to look around for the recipe.

    I just read the sweet note that you left on my Tea Rose bedroom, my friend. I wanted to come over to say thank you and landed here...on your gorgeous strawberry tablescape!

    Ohhh Yvonne, I just adore your strawberry dishes...they are sooo pretty! They certainly do set a lovely table! Your entire table was just as gorgeous as ever! I do declare...you set the prettiest tables in all of blogland! Are you tired of hearing me say that? But...sooo very true! Love the pretty white rose trio centerpiece too! What fun that must have been...to meet and have Pinky and other friends over for lunch! I first met Pinky about 4 yrs. ago through HGTV's Rate My Space site. She is such a dearheart! Ahhh...I would have loved to be at your beautiful strawberry luncheon! Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous table and photos with us...it is always such a delight, sweet lady!
