ROSETTE NAPKIN FOLD TUTORIAL

Hot Pink Rosette Napkins were featured on a StoneGable tablescape this earlier this week. They added a big punch of color and a little extra surprise to my Mikasa Indigo Bloom Tablescape...

My e-mail has been bursting with so many request for a rosette napkin folding tutorial!

These beautiful blooms could not be easier to make!

StoneGable Rosette Napkin Folding Tutorial

Lay a square napkin wrong side up. DO NOT IRON IT~ unless it is too wrinkled to handle. The wrinkles makes the rose look more interesting.

Fold the napkin into a triangle by taking one corner and bringing it up to the opposite corner. Place the long folded edge of the triangle closest to you.

Beginning with the long end, roll the napkin away from you.

Roll up the entire napkin up. You will end up with a long napkin rope.

Beginning on one end and working to the other, roll the napkin rope around itself.

Continue wrapping the napkin around itself. Tuck the end of the napkin underneath and into one of the folds in the bottom of the napkin.

If the center of the rosette is indented, pop it out by adding pressure to the back center of the rosette.

I put my rosette napkins in a little bowl and added real rose leaves. There are so many ways this pretty napkin could be displayed.

I hope you will try this easy rosette napkin when you want to add panache and sass to your table?

  30. That napkin rose looks more complicated than it is. I just may be able to do it, but will have to get some brightly colored napkins--I don't think it would be as sensational with plain white ones. I would love to win the Mikasa dishes. Joyce Lane, jkklane@surewest.net

Thanks for your visit and comments on The Project Table. The plum jam tastes so fresh! (I didn't give those two small jars a hot water bath because they were so small, and I think that is what the difference is in taste.) I also make some peach glaze for pork and fish and chicken... SO yummy! I love this time of year! Its coming to a close for me tho. Arizona is getting too hot.
Have a great week end Yvonne!

  75. You certainly got a secret: I just rolled mine and looks exactly like a rolled up NAPKIN, nothing like a rose... What's the secret?

    1. Maybe giving it a try again... a little practice? Or maybe the kind of napkin you are using is too slippery.
Give it another try with a different napkin. Hope you get a rose this time!

      Delete
    2. Yvonne, my napkins are cotton, not slippery. I tried a different way: I actually rolled starting from the narrower part. And while I rolled, I turned the fabric a little bit, so it wouldn't look so regular. It worked fine. Then I tried in a satiny one I have and it looks good too. Thanks for sharing and take care!
