Nothing tastes better to me when the weather is cold and dreary than soup. So this wintry week starts and ends with... soup! One cooked on the stove top and one in a slow cooker. But both delicious and hardy and so so filling!
Soup is comfort food I love to cook... and eat! When the weather turns nasty in your neck of the woods I hope you will try one of these yummy soups too!
Before we get into this week's menu I want to remind you of the

ReplyDeleteI've made your beef barley soup before and it is delicious. I was thinking about putting it on my menu next menu planning. It's one of those soups that is just perfect for these cold winter days.

Oh dear.... no soup for us this week. We are having a very hot spell. 43 deg Celcius most days this week.
ReplyDeleteI think I will stick to salads.

I made your Bean Soup yesterday and brought some to my elderly parents. They said it was the best they had ever eaten.
ReplyDeleteSo happy they liked it. Thanks for sharing~
DeleteHi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteI'm a regular reader.... though not a regular commenter. I would just like to let you know that I adore your On the Menu Monday posts. The recipes and gorgeous photos are what keep me coming back to Stone Gable time and again. I always find them inspiring, especially when I'm having one of those brain fog OMG!-what-am-I-going-to-make-for-dinner moments. Thank you. I'm so using the Savory Palmiers recipe at some point this week.
You could own and operate the most wonderful B&B in the country…you can do anything and the cuisine would be the best on the East Coast….fabulous menu for the week!
ReplyDeleteNo matter what time I read your On the Menu Monday post, I get hungry.
ReplyDeleteI second what Shirley said; you would be a wonderful innkeeper. Can I be your first guest. Anything on this week's menu will fine with me.
I've been looking for a new slow-cooker recipe to make this week. I think your cacciatore is a winner.
