and although the post was popular, it was the earthenware dishes on the title page that got the most attention!
I got so many e-mails and comment questions about the dinnerware, these beautiful pieces deserved their own post...
I first saw this dinnerware on a vacation to the Hamptons.
They are manufactured by a french company, Gien, and are part of a collection called Sologne.
The fat hare in the thicket is my very favorite!
I paired the set with light aqua plates from HomeGoods and a grapevine wreath used as a brambly charger!
I purchased each piece for $5.00 as the store I got them in was going out of business.
This was the bargain of the century, because the regular price for 6 dessert plates is $258.00...
Yes, to say this dinnerware is pricey is an understatement!
I believe I can hear gasping coming from the other end of the computer!

ReplyDeleteI love, love, love when a good bargain like that comes along! And I am so glad it came to YOU so you could share it's beauty with all of us Yvonne! BTW, I slept especially well last night too! Thank you! Back at 'cha sister! :-)
ReplyDeleteYvonne, what a gorgeouse set of dishes! I know how pricey dishes as those can be. I recently made a huge score on beautiful williams sonoma dishes in the turkey pattern. I had my eyes on them for a year, they recently posted on their website these dishes at 20 percent off which was still pricey for the . BUT WAITTIL YOU HERE THIS!....they also had a 40 percent off of tableware, older stuff, but there they were....first on the page of items, the dishes of my dream....so I thought OMG, I am buying these puppies before they all get scarfed up. So I called my Williams Sonoma store to make sure they were 40 percent off. The manager said no,they are only 20 off. I said sir, wait a minute, look on your website, they are the first thing listed under yor 40 percent off. By golly, he honored the 40 percent off! So I bought set of eight plates, bowls, serving bowl, and platter. I am a very happy camper. Hope I can create a beautiful table setting like yours! Sorry for the lenghthy comment. Happy Thanksgiving.
