This week I am hosting a luncheon for the "Nursery School Lunch Bunch". We have been friends since our children were in Nursery school together... over 20 years ago! Although we don't see eachother as often as we would like, when we get together we just pick up where we left off as if we had all just chatted yesterday. I am so comfortable with these beautiful women!
The thing that I love so much about this group is that we are all very different. I respect and love them all. And I can be just who I am too and they love me in spite of it!
I'm a woman who needs other women in my life! I am a joiner, a team player, an "everyone is welcomed" type of gal! I think everyone is my friend even if we have just met! I am loyal and don't give up friendships! I'm a hugger! I am also opinionated, passionate and a little loud... okay sometimes very loud (hearing issues)! My friends know this about me and accept the way I am!
My friendships are priceless!
Having these precious women for lunch makes me very sentimental and a little mushy! We have a long history. I am sure there will be lots of laughs and a few tears.
Debbie, Kim and Ginger... I can't wait to see you!

Have you ever made Halushki with homemade potato dumplings? That was always the way I had it growing up. Have a wonderful lunch with your friends.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, One of my dearest friends is a girl I met when our two oldest boys were in pre-school. The boys were 3 and she and I were both in our early 20's. I hope you have a wonderful time with your friends,

How nice that your group has remained friends all of these years Yvonne. That speaks a lot for your friendship and love for each other. Enjoy your luncheon.

There is nothing like a group of good friends getting together over lunch, having great laughs, trying to solve the problems of the world, and just enjoying each others company....I can imagine your group's excitement over coming to your home to see what gorgeous lunch you had planned for them and your work of art table....I am blessed to have such a group as this in my neighborhood...we get together every other Thursday...our calendars set...we ourselves "the sewing group"...but not much sewing, just a lot of laughing and eating going on.....
ReplyDeleteMy goodness you sound just like me except the "joiner" part.... it sounded like I was describing myself just reading your words! Have fun with your Nursery School Brunch!
ReplyDeleteAll these recipes everyone is sharing are a feast for the eyes!
Thank you for hosting OTMM again this week, Yvonne. I can finally join in with a good recipe to share.
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of your friends who get to join you as your guests. You always make everyone feel so special. I can't wait to see what you have in store for them!
Hugs,
Rett
Two questions on recipes: On Halushki, does "thin noodles" mean something"thin spaghetti" or more like a thin egg noodle? Also, on he Artichoke and Chicken stuffed shells, when do you add the two cups of milk? I want to try both soon. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the typo in the chicken and stuffed shells. I just fixed it...
Deleteabout the Halushki noodles, thin egg noodles.
Hope you enjoy them both!
Yvonne
