Black and White Pumpkin Table
This year there was actually a pumpkin harvest at StoneGable. I have tried for years to successfully grow pumpkins to no avail. Due to the hot, dry weather the pumpkins I planted grew... and took over the garden.
This table was inspired by the Little Boo Pumpkins from my prolific garden!
I am enthralled with the creamy white color and waxy texture of the Little Boo Pumpkins! Combining them with black and white elements created a fun yet sophicated table.
The white "all purpose" tablecloth gives a clean background for the black and white theme.
Black and white napkins double as placemats once folded in the middle. I often use this trick and no one is the wiser... if I don't tell!
Pearlized grey flatware fits nicely with the color and feel of this dramatic table.
My love for mismatched piled high dishes is evident at this table. A large leaf and berry white charger grounds the grouping.
The black and white handpainted checked plate makes a perfect base for a Little Boo! And just to guild the Lilly, a little gingham ribbon is tied to the stem!
Napkins that match the placemats are doubled with a black and white check napkin for an extra punch. They are caught up with a white vintage feel napkin ring.
White bubble glasses and delicate porcelain cups and saucers are added to each place.
A wrought iron tiered fruit basket becomes a festive centerpiece.
Straw-like exselcer acts as a filler make a soft nest, of sorts, for the pumpkins.
A little pumpkin greets the table guests with a big BOO!
Large white pumpkins on wrought iron bases contribute to the centerpiece.
A large oil rubbed bronze lantern glows with the warmth of a bow embellished pillar candle.
Dessert plates are ready and waiting for a delicious pumpkin cheesecake.
The Menu
Waldorf Salad
Butternut Ravioli In A Walnut Cream Sauce
Grilled Apple Turkey Sausages
Pumpkin Cheesecake
StoneGable FYI: If you have visited me for any length of time, I am sure you have seen many of the pieces on this table before. Everything on this table is something I had on hand. And with the exception of the pumpkins, I have used the elements in this table many times on TT.
I am joining Susan at Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Please stop by and see all the beautiful and creative tables!

Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteThis is so striking! The white pumpkins are great!
Hello Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this tablescape. Those white pumpkins are so cute and very classy. I grew 4 kinds of pumpkins this year but bugs got them and I only saved a few. Two of the varieties I grew were miniatures...one white and one orange. Funny thing is...even after we tilled the ground after pulling them up they started growing again and now I have a bunch of mini white pumpkins growing! Hopefully we don't get frost before most of them are full grown...which won't be long. Enjoy your pumpkins and have a wonderful Thursday.
Maura :)
I love this tablescape. Of course, the black and white is always stunning...and your little white pumpkins are perfect!!
ReplyDeleteThe black and white is stunning! I love it all. Thanks for sharing an unorange pumpkin!

I love black and white anything...and this is a very elegant take on a "pumpkin" table. The white ones are my favorites, but not that easy to find around here. Love it all!
ReplyDeleteAnother stunner Yvonne! I love the white pumpkins (I am sure I am repeating myself here, lol) and love the use of the creamy white with the black. This is what I am concidering with black transferware for Thanksgiving....if my famlly doesn't freak on me, lol.

When I got married in 1986, black lacquer home decor was all the rage. So, we bought a black lacquer bedroom set, formal diningroom, and formal livingroom. We bought black china (rimmed with gold) and black stemware. The artwork in those rooms was framed in black...and often the art itself was gray and white (gray background/white calla lilies). Our bedroom linens were gray and black with white calla lilies. Our master bathroom had black toilet, black sinks, and a black sunken tub. Are you getting the picture that I was overrun with black!!
ReplyDeleteAfter about 15 year of marriage, I was going insane with all that black. So, we bought all new funiture, and now I pretty much run from any home decor that is black.
BUT your tablescape is totally gorgeous. It is elegant and beautiful and stunning. In fact, I don't think I hate black decorations so much anymore.
You are SO amazingly creative, Yvonne. I am always stunned at the beauty you bring to your home. Your husband must LOVE coming home from work each day!!
Have a wonderful day.
Love,
Patti

ReplyDeleteI have to express my appreciation to the writer for rescuing me from this situation. Just after researching through the search engines and obtaining suggestions which were not beneficial, I thought my life was well over. Living minus the answers to the problems you've solved by way of this blog post is a serious case, as well as the kind that would have in a negative way affected my entire career if I had not discovered your website. Your main capability and kindness in dealing with a lot of stuff was invaluable. I don't know what I would've done if I had not come across such a stuff like this. I am able to at this moment look ahead to my future. Thank you so much for this impressive and results-oriented help. I won't think twice to refer your blog post to anybody who will need guide on this area.
