HOW TO MAKE THE PERFECT AND MOST EASY PEASY BOW

This was the very first bow I learned how to make decades ago... and it's still my favorite.

I have used it on wreaths, presents, for hair bows (no judging... it was the 80's), mantels, Christmas Trees, and even a car!

You can throw away your bow makers because this bow is so easy to make and comes out perfect every time!

Let's get started with step-by-step instructions...

StoneGable DOUBLE LOOP BOW

Supplies

* my ribbon is 2 1/4 inch wired burlap ribbon. This technique will work on almost any kind and width ribbon as long as it is not too thick.

Fluff...

So easy! You may not "get it" on the first or even the 5th try... but you will! And when you do it will be your favorite easy-peasy bow!

Here's the bow on other wreaths...

Same technique just one more pair of loops!

I have 2 more bows I'll be sharing with you this summer... make sure to look for them!

    1. Kay it is quite easy. Just try it a couple of times and don't give up until you have it. You will be sure glad you did!

  3. Your bow looks simple but very pretty. There are many ways to make a bow and it is informative to get instructions from different sources. The bow makers make a professional looking bow and are easy on hands that have arthritis. I am not a representative just own one. Looking forward to your next tutorials.

  4. Yvonne,
    YOUR bow is gorgeous!!!
. . .and while it appears to be easy enough,
each time I attempt this type, I pull it all out when I go to fluff.
Any suggestions to what I might be doing differently???
    Please advise!!!
I know. . .practice makes more perfect,
but for me. . .practice with unsuccessful results causes stress.
    Fondly,
    Pat

  5. I basically do the same thing except I START with the tail and end with the other tail and do 5 or 6 loops on each side of the bow. Hope we can get together next week and hope you are FEELING BETTER!!!!!!! XO

  7. Great tutorial, Yvonne! People have asked me for years to make bows for them. One year a girl friend wanted me to make several bows for her as her Christmas gift. I supplied the ribbon as part of her gift.

  8. Used to work for a gift basket company years ago and this is how we always made our bows...I made thousands at Christmas time! You can layer many ribbons together and make the most beautiful bows...just keep the ribbons on top of each other and twist all together. A good tip for keeping the ribbons lined up good is to stack them on a paper towel holder, they spin easily and it helps to keep them uniform when twisting. Love your blog!!

  9. Sorry, Yvonne, I would like to try this, but the instructions are not clear enough for a beginner like me. :( Thank you though.

  10. I Agree, need better instructions and clearer pictures. Very hard to read. Need a darker background.
