DELICIOUS DOUBLE HOT CHOCOLATE AND CHOCOLATE SPOONS

This was a fun, delicious and fabulously chocolaty post to create. I was one happy, messy, lick-the-spoon girl!

Valentines Day, for me, is a means to have chocolate! Good chocolate! Yummy chocolate! Lots and lots of chocolate!

Today I'm sharing the best Hot Chocolate you will ever make! It's so rich and creamy and loaded with cocoa goodness! And just to make it even more of a chocolate fantasy, let's make chocolate spoons...

If you want a real hot chocolate treat don't use the packaged powder stuff ... give the real recipe a try. It is easy and once you try it you will never go back!

Think of Hot Chocolate as a dessert or once-in-awhile treat and don't feel guilty!
Please use the very best Chocolate you can find.  Hot chocolate is only as good as the chocolate you use.

STONEGABLE DELICIOUS DOUBLE HOT CHOCOLATE

3 cups whole milk
2 cups half and half
2 TBS cocoa powder
4 oz. good bittersweet chocolate, chopped ( I use Ghiradelli chocolate)
4 oz. semi sweet chocolate, chopped
1 TBS sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp strong coffee

In a medium sauce pan heat milk, half and half and cocoa powder. Stir to combine. Bring the mixture to just below it's simmering point.

Remove from heat and add the chocolates and stir until melts. Add the sugar vanilla and coffee. Stir.

Return to heat and and cook until hot, but do not simmer.

Serve immediately. Add whipped cream or marshmallows, and stir with a chocolate spoon.

YUMMY!

STONEGABLE CHOCOLATE SPOONS

1 cup good chocolate, chopped. I use a local European-styled chocolate called Wilbur's chocolate. It is insanely good!

garnishes... mini marshmallows, tiny heart candy, crushed peppermints

plastic spoons

1.Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pot of simmering water. Do not get water in the chocolate.. water will ruin the chocolate.

Stir the chocolate and as soon as it begins to melt take it off the simmering water and stir until all the chocolate is melted.

Dip the spoons in the chocolate and swirl around. Get it good and filled with chocolate. Put the spoons on a parchment lined surface. Sprinkle with garnishes. Let the chocolate spoons harden.

Remember to lick the bowl!!!!

Stir into hot chocolate.

    1. Not that I am knocking Hershey's but I don't care for it's taste. I use Ghiradelli. It's the best I can find in my area. Hope this helps!
