HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor-- and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness...
President George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation, 1789

Of all the blessings I count today... you will be among them!

May you and yours have a happy, safe and blessed Thanksgiving.

  7. Yvonne...just when I was teetering on the brink between admiration and envy of you i opened a post showing you with two new knee caps! I do really admire so many things about you (decorating skills, organizing habits, hostess with the mostest title, family lifestyle, indomitable spirit, energy, amazing meal planner/executor, faithful to walk the talk and disciple other women, seamstress ability, shopper extraaire, amazing photography & topography!) to name a few. But envy is never acceptable between sisters in the faith and seeing you in bed jerked me back from toying with the idea that you are super human ;-) i decided to tell you today how wonderful you are because i am layed up with a joint fusion in my foot and honestly...feel your pain!! I get the village needed to care for you cause i need a village too. Today seemed like a good day to encourage you by reminding you that you are amazing :-) Suzi

  13. What a treat to read a post on Thanksgiving Day. To have both knees replace at the same time. Wow. You have an artistic eye in everything you do. I'm sure you have a loving family to give you lots of TLC. Happy Thanksgiving, Kathleen in Az

  15. Yvonne, somehow I missed your post about your knee replacements - I guess I was up to my elbows in turkey. In any case I wish you well and hope you have a successful recovery! I also was scheduled for the same but unfortunately had to cancel due to another medical complication so I know what kind of pain you experienced. On the bright side, I have heard only about how much relief people get post surgery. My prayers and good wishes go out to you and please share your progress!
By the way, I hope Thanksgiving was a happy time shared with your family and loved ones.
