MAGIC BBQ RUB

We are a grilling family... all seasons... all weather!

And we love a good BBQ! I have made all kinds of yummy barbecue sauces but recently I have found the wonderful world of barbecue rubs!!!!

What a depth of deliciousness and flavor they bring to almost any meat!

Here's my very favorite...

STONEGABLE SPICY BBQ RUB

I usually double or triple this recipe.

1 TBS smoked paprika
2 TBS garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 TBS dried chives
2 TBS brown sugar
1 tsp  koshersalt
1 TBS sugar

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.

Pat meat dry and rub all over liberally.

Next week I'll show you how I use it to make the tastiest ribs!!!

  1. Can't wait for your rib recipe - I've been looking for a good one with a dry rub. We loved the dry ribs when we lived in Memphis :-)

  4. Thanks, Yvonne!

My husband has a special meat rub blend (family secret from past butcher relatives) and is funny about guarding the secret. It's not spicy, but a nice Mediterranean blend....yes, he is very Italian and was his father's father's recipe - along with a Great Uncle. Those Italians are so funny lol.

Gotta try your rubs on something soon, much obliged for sharing the secret recipe! :)

  5. This does look good. I've tried 2 rubs lately and both were disappointing. You have become a kind of brand for me. When I saw this title, I thought I should check it out - just because it was yours. No pressure, but I expect this to be great! :)

  6. We love rubs, and we usually buy them. But since younger daughter will be in private school this fall, we need to save money every way we can, so I appreciate this post! I'll make up a bunch of it and keep it in a canister. It does sound like it will work well with all types of meat, too.

  18. Yvonne,

It was so lovely to meet you at Haven! I was looking for an email or contact information for you because I wanted to send a separate email asking if I can feature this magic BBQ rub on my new blog, Mason Jar Crafts Love. I just use one photo and a link. No recipes are given. The goal is to direct readers to you.

Let me know if that would be okay. Thanks so much for your consideration!

    :) Linda

P.S. When I clicked the "About" tab it brings me to a page that tells me I don't have access. I don't see a "contact me" tab on your top and/or sidebar anywhere. So sorry for the "pitch" in the comments thread ...
