SPRING PILLOW LOVE

I have such a crush on pillows! And an even bigger obsession with making them myself. Give me a remnant and a little funky trim and I'll use it to make a pillow!

Even though my living room has two pieces of furniture in it right now, (until the bulk of it is delivered in mid April) I still wanted my sofa to be welcoming and pretty...

I was at the Calico Corner's Outlet recently (hi, girls!) and picked up a few on-sale remnants for pillow making.

I could not pass up this great cotton buffalo check... and look at the ca-ra-zy trim I found for it!!!

So fun and sassy! I'll be able to use this for any season.

This sweet Le Lapin pillow has been on my must-try list for awhile now!  I first saw it at CONFESSION OF A PLATE ADDICT. Debbie did a masterful tutorial complete with a printable transfer!

She was so nice to share with all of us!

I like her knock-off so much better than the original Ballard Design pillow!

I tweaked her directions just a little to make it my own.  I changed the stripe design just a tad.

I also made an envelope back closer because I wash my pillow cases and reuse my feather pillow inserts.

HIPPITY-HOPPITY HAPPY SPRING!

  1. Isn't Debbie amazing, she does so many great projects and tutorials, she is making quite a name for herself with all her hard work. This is one of my favorite projects she has done and Mr. bunny boy looks fabulous with your new checked pillow, I bet everytime you walk into your room you smile!! Love the border you chose to use too. Did you see her darling little birds she made. Love those too.
    Happy weekend,

  2. Wow, Yvonne, I love them both. That buffalo check is the other color I looked at for my chairs before I chose biscuit in the larger check. Love the curly trim you used. I love pillows with trim or cording added. Just makes them more professional looking.

  8. Yvonne, I'm a pillow addict as well as a dish addict. '-) Your buffalo check and sweet le lapin design pillows are charming. Love the fun trim! I like to use envelope cases too so that storage is easier. I'm off to read your directions. Thanks! ~ Sarah

  20. Yvonne...seriously I want your pillows! LOL...really I have been meaning to take a crack at making my own pillows simply because the ones I like are sooo expensive! Yours look like high end Ballard or PB pillows that I know would cost an arm and leg to buy! No apologies for this addiction...it's simply wonderful!

  25. Nice and attractive pillows can make a room, and if you also have the ability to make them to a high standard as you can, makes it a lot easier to get what you need.
