Last month I challenged myself to come up with a FORMULA for setting an easy, yet attractive table... and to use that FORMULA to create a table for every month of the year!
This month's table was a breeze to put together... and with just a few changes the same dishes, glasses, flatware and linens were transformed into a table ready for Easter Brunch...
The original table looked like this. You can see how I put together this table and the formula I am using for a year's worth of tablescapes, HERE
Using a soft white color scheme helps to make this table very versatile!
With just a few seasonal changes the table became an easy Easter tablescape...
I used the same runners and dishes!
And the same glasses...
I did swap out the original place mats for ones that had a more nesty look.
I could have easily used the original ones though!
Between the dishes I snuck in a faux cabbage leaf. I love to use these leaves for spring tablescapes. They were a gift from my friend Fran.
Each salad plate was topped with little white egg cups filled with fluff and a natural egg from my friend Cathy's chickens.
Around the little egg cups are willow wreaths ... I use these for so many things!!!
Like these wreaths, nothing special was bought for this table. I just shopped my house!
I used brown and white gingham napkins with a pretty detailed edge. You will see these often on my formula tables! You can't beat gingham for casual dining!
The napkins shown in the original table would have looked pretty too!
The center of the table is filled with tulips! They were still fresh after being used at a recent bridal shower...
so they were used again on this table!
These tulips came from my local grocer's.
I think white flowers fill the table and looks so nice in one of my many white pitchers (Mikasa-from a yard sale) I collect!
To continue the Easter theme my bunny tureen (Pottery Barn) joined the centerpiece...
You know, when you invite one bunny to the party... more are close behind!!!
Setting an easy casual table gets even easier when you have a FORMULA!
Remember to
Beautifully done, as usual, Yvonne. Love the cabbage leaves tucked into the place settings. Congrats in advance on the upcoming wedding. Can't wait to see the wedding table.
ReplyDeleteI love this! and went back to read your post revealing the 'formula.' Great idea. I'm inspired to get fresh flowers for this weekend, especially considering that this Sunday represents NEW LIFE. And I am going to fold the cloth napkins like you did. That is so clever! Look how inspired I got with just one blog post. lol
ReplyDeleteHow luvly... Beautiful in all white. Pretty little bunnies ll over the place.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! A wedding... Spring is the perfect time for a new beginning.
Hugs, Gee

So lovely, Yvonne! Really looking forward to hearing all about the wedding!
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful- love how easily you transformed the table using the simple natural color scheme!
ReplyDeleteDelightful!
ADORE those cabbage leaves; saw some last week and they are quite pricey. Your table is, as always, just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteNobody sets a table like you Yvonne....so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful table. Your explination makes it seem so easy.
ReplyDeleteThis just looks like Easter. Love your friend Kathy's fresh eggs.
Here's to a Very Happy Easter to you and your family.
Denise
Your table is beautiful, Yvonne! I love your cabbage leaves. I really need to invest in a couple white table runners. Yours are gorgeous!! Happy Easter!!
ReplyDeleteI really like that idea of using a formula to create a table that can transition from season to season. For anyone who has storage issues it's nice to be able to create new tablescapes without having to store multiple sets of dishes.
ReplyDeleteJust exquisite! I was actually anxiously awaiting this month's table. Now I will be looking forward to the wedding table. My favorite tables are always "shopped at home too". Well loved pieces always make such special tables. You have such a gift. Thanks for sharing with all of us. Lori Lucas
ReplyDeleteMy husband brought me white tulips yesterday. They are my favorite and he knew that while our dumping of snow was sort of fun on Sunday as it happened, by yesterday afternoon I was feeling a bit trapped inside again. There is nothing prettier and I love how they look with the brown and white table. I think we may just go out for Easter brunch...I'm not sure I feel like spending a day in the kitchen for just 2 or 3 of us.
ReplyDeleteLove the cabbage leaves...they really add to the "the look"!
Love~love~love this....... everything down to the last detail. xo
ReplyDeleteJust lovely, Yvonne! I love how you are showing how to use the same things and just changing up a few things. Things that can be purchased inexpensively to give your table a different look. Love the rabbit pieces. The egg cups with those little willow wreaths around them are just charming.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving white themed Easter decor this year and your t'scape is lovely. I'm sure your "formula" will be helpful to many!
ReplyDeleteDD
Lovely table setting :) I needed a formula, thanks!
ReplyDeleteStunning as always my friend! I have those cabbage leaf placemats...after seeing yours I think I'll be using them on my Easter table too :)
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous. I was looking for a better additive, but gorgeous just fit.
ReplyDeleteThat would be adjective. I have a love/hate relationship with autocorrect.
ReplyDeleteLovely!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tablescape!
ReplyDeleteYvonne,
ReplyDeleteYou always set the most beautiful tables! I love the white theme you've used with the brown and natural elements, and the cabbage leaves just pull everything together! I love the idea of using a formula to simplify things!
Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteThis is elegant simplicity at its finest, dear friend!!!
Adore the embellishments of the cabbage leaves for a subtle hue of Spring!
From the bunny tureen, to the creamer & sugar, to the salt & peppers...exquisite!
The grocer tulips are splendid in your white pitcher!!!
The added texture of the nest placemat & twig wreath are stunning elements of nature!
Thank you for sharing your formula for an beautiful tablescape to use within our own homes!
Have a blessed Easter, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Love the whites, the bunnies, and especially how you do everything.
ReplyDeleteI gleaned a lot of ideas from this post! I usually switch my dishes around more than my accessories so this is sort of the opposite and much more convenient. I love how you use the two table runners, and the egg cups and wreaths make such a pretty spring statement. Thanks so much, Yvonne, and Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
This is so very beautiful, Yvonne. I love it. The cabbage leaves are a super idea!
ReplyDeleteI love your table Yvonne dear. I will miss being there for our traditional Easter brunch. It will always be with me though, ever since I can remember from my Mother and

ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! I'll be right over for Easter dinner or brunch or whatever yummy food you might be serving.
ReplyDeleteCindy
So lovely as usual, Yvonne!! Love how you use the basics and then add seasonal touches.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Tablescapes are so much fun ... an opportunity to put our decorative talent to use often enough and not at a great deal of expense! It's also fun to collect, be it the dollar store or a flea market, an antique or vintage consignment store, or, shop our own house! Yvonne, you are so innovative and your tables are so attractive. I'm sure your creations for the Wedding will be stunning - I am excitedly anticipating!
ReplyDeleteOur oldest daughter was married two years ago and I can't even express the overwhelming joy that I experienced. For days I felt like I was living on "cloud nine". Best wishes to you as you do the same!!
