This year my Christmas mantle was easy to decorate.
I decorated the mantle with pinecones and mercury glass for Thanksgiving and with just a few changes... it became a Christmas mantle...
From this....
To this...
I added Incense Cedar to each side of my mantle in little mercury glass cups...tied up with a black plaid bow...
An old silver footed bowl is filled with Incense Cedar for the center of the mantle.
Incense Cedar smells like Christmas... beautiful!
Little green and white and silver balls accent the pinecones in the glass hurricanes...
White lanterns are tied up with black and white plaid ribbons. The lanterns give a soft golden glow to the mantle!
Did you notice that some of the pinecones are really candles. We will burn them Christmas Eve night and Christmas day.

And a flurry of snowflakes gives everything a wintery feel!

ReplyDeleteCiao for now...
Quite beautiful. I adore pine cones and greenery with big, bold, plaid bows and they are the perfect decoration for this time of year. I have a 'two dustbin' collection of pine cones, some gathered over thirty years ago and they have travelled the world with me. Deborah C♥
ReplyDeleteLovely in every sense of the word! Where do you find your greens and cypress? Thanks for sharing!

Very Classy. I went simple this year, too. What happended is, I splurged and bought several boxes of the prelit garland from Costco for my foyer staircase. I did not realize what good quality it is until I went to do my mantle with old garland. It looked so tired and cheap and it's now in the garbage. I enjoy all you do. Thanks. Karen
ReplyDeleteSimply lovely... my husband insisted on a
ReplyDeleteflat screen tv up on my mantel so it's rather
hard to create such a pretty Chirismas
decoration.. but I still want to join in
on the 2nd...
See you there
Sandy
