Fall has finally come to StoneGable's mantle...
This year my mantle is filled with pumpkins from the Pumpkin Wagon...
I can get medium sized orange pumpkins for $1.00 at the Pumpkin Wagon! This is a no-frills real honest to goodness wagon filled with pumpkins fresh out of the field next to it... dirt, dents and big stems...no extra cost!
It is one of my favorite fall stops!
This year's mantle is very simple... pumpkins, pedestals and autumn candle rings.
I always have such a hard time taking pictures of my mantle... this year I figured out why.
Two reasons, my mantle is high and very long....
and the reflection of the room is so distracting in the huge mirror that hangs over our fireplace.
So I decided to show snippets of the mantle... this way you can see what is on the mantle and not the reflection of my family room.
I used dark wooden pedestals to elevate some of the pumpkins. Tucking a fall candle wreath under the pumpkins gives "fluff" and interest to the arrangement. I love a twiggy look!
From one end of my mantle ....
... to the other... my mantle is filled with FALL!
Beautiful♥ I do especially like those white pumpkins with the greenish markings. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteI love these white pumpkins too! Yellow pumpkins also.
DeleteI think the pumpkin mantel is perfect. The little acorn rings are so cute on the candlesticks.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, but kind of hard to imagine what it really looks like without an overall shot - reflections or not.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could add a photo of the entire mantel?

I love pumpkins, they're so cute and come in such great shapes, which make your mantel look so pretty and I love how you have it in different hights with the candle holders, dear Ivonne. The acorn rings are so cute too! Have a very happy fall season.

I love it. Would like to see the whole thing though:) Have a great day. I have GOT to finish at the old house today......UGH.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Yvonne! I love how you used the candlesticks. I had a mantel like that at our old house. The mantel here at the new place is shorter and narrower, so I get less on it, but its worked out for me. I used some dark candlesticks that I keep up there year round for two little pumpkins, too. I just removed the two faux candles that I normally keep there. Haven't gotten my real ones yet, I'm hoping this weekend to go with the granddaughter to pick some.
ReplyDeletevery pretty.. I like twigs around my pumpkins too . makes the arrangement much more interesting to look at.
ReplyDeleteI love your mantel and the way you put the pumpkins on different levels!

Pretty and elegant, I especially love the orange pumpkins contrasted with the black candlesticks. I know what you mean about the high, long mantel. I have the same problem and mine even looks disportunately big in photos. Lots of photos helps. Great job as usual Yvonne!

Yvonne, I like the way you staggered the pumpkins with some on stands and some on the mantle itself, and I like the range of color, too, with white and orange pumpkins combined. I haven't done the first thing for fall, but it's just been so warm. I think I will probably jump straight to Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLooks perfect...pumpkins for 1.00!!! I wish we had a pumpkin wagon nearby, I could go nuts! Love your vignette, and really loving the white pumpkins this year!! Another homerun Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always!!

ReplyDeleteWhere is the Pumpkin Wagon?
North or South Fork?
I'll be out this weekend ... I need more pumpkins; they are crazy expensive in Jersey this year.
LOVE the white ones!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful and full of inspiration as always my friend!!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! The pumpkins on the pedestals are so elegant. I have the same problem when photographing my mantel, with my huge Venetian mirror. My photos of the whole mantel always look awful, but closeups look much better. Glad to know I'm not the only one :)
ReplyDeleteGreat mantel, Yvonne! Love all of your pumpkins! I'm nuts for the white ones this year!
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is so pretty, and I Love your variety of pumpkins!

ReplyDeleteI love it all, Yvonne! Simple and perfect! The twig wreaths are my favorite, I have some packed up with my Christmas things...doesn't help me now!! :(
ReplyDeleteI wish we had a pumpkin wagon here!

ReplyDeleteLovely Yvonne! No matter how the picture was taken it all looks fabulous! I hope you are enjoying this wonderful time of year!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me....you ALWAYS have an open invitation!!!! I hope we can make thatb happen SOON!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so pretty Yvonne. I have the same trouble with taking some pictures. Even with my cropping it is hard to make it look right. I found that if I just take the picture and then use the picture the way the computer crops it (don't know if that makes sense?) it turns out better..Happy Tuesday..Judy
