Peach Tablescape
The Peaches at StoneGable are the best we have ever had. For that matter, the peaches in our whole area were succulent this year! Our peach trees are finicky so I was thrilled to have some big beauties!
Fresh peaches were matched with peach lustre ware and creamy white accents for a Peaches and Cream tablescape.
I have collected Fire King's Peach Lustre ware for years and years. This tablescape is a study in some of the different dishes I have collected and NOT actual place settings! I like to stack dishes, that's true, but this is just a tad over the top!
Creamy white plates in a mismatched assortment are stacked between laurel, shell and three band patterns of peach dishes. A berry bowl tops off this tableware tower holding a pretty peach!
This gives peaches and cream a whole new meaning!
The overall look is simple and fresh, just like the peaches!
Antique silver gives added sparkle to the table.
White damask napkins are casually tucked into white stemmed bubble glasses.
Just for fun, a shell (or swirl) patterned demitasse cup and saucer sit on a three banded pattern cup and saucer. A tiny silver demitasse spoon rests on the saucer ready to be used. Again, not very practical but fun to see the different dishes and patterns.
Sugar bowl and creamer are in the laurel pattern. Their simple and straightforward styling seems so substantial.
A small shell condiment dish will be filled with peach jam. This fancy silver jam spoon was found at a flea market long ago.
The vintage percolator coffee pot was an auction surprise. I know very little about it. It matches the peach lustre perfectly and it WORKS! I am so enthralled with the spigot!
No flowers on this table. Only fresh StoneGable peaches.
A large berry bowl is brimming with these juicy gems! The berry bowl matches the ones that top each place setting.
All is elevated to centerpiece status by a white cake plate.
This tablescape is perfect for a special breakfast for two on the side porch!

I am participating in Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps On The Porch. Thank you Susan for hosting this very popular and pretty get together of dish lovers!
How amazing that those beautiful gems came from your yard, you don't need flowers with that much color! I have one Fire King Lustre Ware casserole I was given when I moved into my first apartment almost (cough...) 30 years ago, it's still so pretty! This table just shines Yvonne-enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMouthwatering yumminess! The colors of your dishes are magnificent. Wow they are to die for beauties. I love the whole tablescape...but I love every one of yours :) Come by and enter Centerpiece Wednesdays too. Show off these dishes and of course those amazing peaches!! Gosh can I have one?
ReplyDeleteKarin
Oh that coffee urn is incredible!
ReplyDeleteYour tablescapes get more beautiful

for the eyes!

Yvonne - you have the most lovely collection of treasures! I'm hoping to find some good peaches at the market this week. I visited a friend in GA one time and she served frozen peaches that were cut up into bit size pieces and preserved in a sugar syrup - we fell in love with them. I'd like to give it a go.

So beautiful, as always. Can't believe you got those peaches from your yard...and the coffee pot is fabulous. Don't you love it when you find things like that? Can't wait to see what you do next week! {no pressure:-) }
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces! You have quite the collection. The peaches are the perfect touch.
ReplyDeletePeaches and cream for sure!! Beautiful collection. The peaches look wonderful. I hope we see some of your special peach recipes coming up!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, but I'm not surprised. Your whole blog is beautiful. I've been leafing through page by page and loving everything I see. I'm admiring your fabulous organization and I've just been devouring your Peach Dumpling post and am going to try your recipe in the next few days! Thanks for all this enjoyment!

So pretty! I love the combination of the white with the peach lustre ware! You set such a gorgeous table! Your peaches look wonderful too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a phenomenal table with simmering dishes and nothing is prettier than fresh peaches in August! Breakfast sounds divine too!
ReplyDeleteJust Yummy! Love the white with it. Together they remind me of the peach cream-cycles. Makes me want to EAT your dishes lol.
ReplyDeletethanks 4 sharing. Sharon-Table Escapes
Oh my, how gorgeous! Are you open for business? Looks like a wonderful breakfast :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love your dishes.
ReplyDeleteMary
I couldn't wait to see this after the sneak peek last week. Your dishes are just gorgeous and you photographed them so well. I love peaches and always wait for this time of year to enjoy them every single day.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, your peach lustreware is positively LUSCIOUS! I remember it from the first time you shared it with us...I had never seen this kind before.
ReplyDeleteI found myself craning my neck to try to peek around the corner of the first few photos & get a better glimpse of that GORGEOUS coffee pot!!! How special it is!
I enjoy seeing how you love to 'play with your dishes' & don't take yourself so seriously all the time.
Your little silver jam spoon is wonderful. I have one as well & doesn't it strike you as funny that the Victorian's had SO many utensils for even the simplest of items?!
GREAT TT, as always!
Hugs,
Rett
What gorgeous dishes and glasses!!! So beautiful. The peaches have been really yummy this year!
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteDid you ever "nail" this one. I'll admit, I have inherited a few lustre ware pieces and have never appreciated them before, but you had a vision....Mixing them with the white dishes and putting your peaches on the plate is genius. This is such eye candy! And that menu looks delicious too.
OH!! YYUUMM!! Thank you for sharing!! I wish these pictures came with a scratch'n sniff option!! XXOO, Damaris
ReplyDeleteYvonne, those peach dishes are so pretty and sparkly. Your peaches look amazing.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty...I am glad that you clarified that this table was to show your collection, because I was wondering what the 9-10 course meal was going to be! Your beautiful collection is very extensive, love the coffee percolator/urn. Forgive me if these next couple of questions have already been answered; how did you come to start collecting these particular dishes and long have you been collecting peach lustre? Thanks for sharing this drool-worthy collection, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteThe coffee urn is something unique and rare! love your peach table setting. and the peaches are just yummy! I can imagine peach cobbler and peach pie..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always... where do you keep all those dishes. I live vicariously through you...
ReplyDeleteCynthia
I can almost smell those peaches. And the table is so amazing. Such beauty. Thanks for taking the time to share this with your readers.

The percolator is perfect. What a find. Love all your peach things!
ReplyDeleteYour tablescapes are always gorgeous. I too am enthralled by that percolator. What a unique and beautiful piece! Thanks for sharing the dumpling recipe too.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting to know each other very well. First, when I made the sorbet this week...I actually thought how pretty it would be in your Lustre ware (which I hadn't heard of until meeting you). Second, I had just counted the stacked plates and was thinking...no way that many courses...then you answered my thoughts!
ReplyDeleteSometimes the simple things are the most beautiful. There is really nothing more gorgeous than ripe fruit fresh from the tree. Beautiful.
Okay, I'll be by for breakfast tomorrow. Eight o'clock?
ReplyDeleteAs always, your tablescape (and your photography) are stunningly beautiful.
I LOVE that beautiful coffee pot.
I love peaches, but we didn't get a peach harvest at our house (3 trees) due to a couple late freezes which killed the fruit.
Wishing you a wonderful evening.
Hugs,
Patti
Delicious-the peaches make it even more so. Thanks for sharing with us today!
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting to see this since your "teaser" earlier! What a fabulous setting! Love the peaches! Love the dishware! Love the coffee pot! Love being able to enjoy it even from a distance.
ReplyDeleteNow that I see these I am reminded that my mother had 4 of the swirled (?) peach lusterware cups and saucers. I don't know what ever happened to them...gone with time, I suppose.
Thank you, Yvonne! It was fun to see your table! Diana
I am constantly amazed (and delighted) at all you do and your knack for making EVERYTHING beautiful! Your peaches are so beautiful, I am wishing a had one right now! I adore your dishes! ReplyDeleteOH!!!! I forgot to mention the coffee percolator! I LOOOOVE it, as soon as I saw it I was in love! What a wonderful find!

I am a huge fan of anything in the orange family so I love your dishes. My favorite part, though, was the beautiful coffe decanter. I would seriuosly love to own something like that, especially in those colors. The fact that it still works makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved the Fire Kings 'Peach Luster'. My husband and I are antiquers and I always thought it was so pretty but could not legitimize yet another set of dishes. You did a beautiful job.
ReplyDeleteAfter all this time I have been following you I did not know you lived so close. I am in Alexandria and will definitely make a trip to Lucketts to see the store. Good antique stores are so limited in our area. Thanks for showing it.
Judy
Your peaches and cream pieces are lovely! That coffee dispenser is such a neat find! I am in awe that you can pick peaches off your own tree!
ReplyDeletelove seeing your peach lustre- in awe of that percolator- imagine you were thrilled to find it.
ReplyDeleteLove the lustre ware.. Now that I know what it is. My husband bought some for his mum eons ago and his sisters were going to garage-sale it, but i saved it because the bowls are just too cute.. they have one longer handle on the side. Love the stacks of dishes.. love the colors and the peaches compliment the lustreware beautifully. A feast for the eyes!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces, wonderful! I loved this table and accessories. Hugs.Fatima-Scrapart.
ReplyDeleteI was looking forward to this and you didn't dissapoint. I love the lustreware and how you've stacked up the plates to show the different styles. Really pretty.

ReplyDeleteYvonne, you just continue to delight the eye and if I were there, the tongue too! This stack of dishes is just incredible. I love the peach ware. How beautiful paired with the off white plates. The stack may be over the top, but that's what we like, right? Continue to delight me! Love it.

You have perculated a bit of peach perfection!
ReplyDeleteOh Yvonne, sometimes life just gets too busy. How did I miss this? Well, I'm glad I found it. I love all of your stacking. It is fun - even if it isn't for eating. You have one serious collection of peach lustre ware, but I think the vintage perculator gets the prize!
