Pink Saturday: The Olde Pink House, Savannah
What could be more fitting on Pink Saturday than the ultimate pink house? This beautiful pink stuccoed home, built is 1771, has be been a private residence, a bank, a tea room and the headquarters of one of Sherman's generals. Today it is a fabulous restaurant! We were able to tour this historic beauty before it opened and we were amazed at all the historic dining rooms and the much in demand ballroom- a perfect spot for a wedding reception. If you love pink, this is a must see on a trip to Savannah!
Situated on Reynolds Square, it graces Savannah's historic district. It is especially striking when the pink azaleas are in bloom.
We had a wonderful dinner eating in the carriage house connected to the main house. The food and the atmosphere made our eating experience a memorable event!
Wouldn't you love to live in a pnk house? Well, in historic Savannah you could!

Since this is a historic house, I wonder if it was pink originally? I know I want to visit Savannah soon!

How pretty! I don't think I could convince the marine to live in a pink house. The bitty one would be in heaven. It is simply gorgeous inside as well as out.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that you are feeling well really soon! Fav colors? Red! Cause I am a flagrant hussy! Self proclaimed of course. I had a bad experience with green. When I was younger, I got to redo my room. Everything was purple and white so my future husband, Donny Osmond, would love it as much as me. My parents were buying new carpet for my room. I excitedly came home from school to see it and opened the door to forest green carpet! I have hated green ever since.

ReplyDeleteWell if there were a prize for Pink Saturday then you would certainly win. No one could do better than the Pink House. I remember eating there a couple of times - once as a kid who didn't really appreciate the magic of it at the moment I'm sure, and once on a job interview. That's right, I almost lived in Savannah, but the Lord sent me to lovely Fort Worth instead...

I've never been to Savannah but boy, I want to get in my car and drive right on down there after reading your last few posts. We had a 'Pink House' here in NJ for many years down in Cape May. It was a beautiful Victorian painted pink with white gingerbread and sold the most beautiful things. Ciao, bella!

Yes, it is a beautiful city next to New Orleans.I love the iron brass window fence style. I can't rememeber what they called it. Have a good week. Happy PS. Nancy
ReplyDeleteOf course, I would live in a pink house...especially if it were a historic house. Now, I am sure that if I painted our present house pink, our neighborhood association would not only file a complaint with the county, but would call the men in white coats to carry me to the psyhc ward.

ReplyDeleteHubby and I ate there the last time we were in Savannah, and we loved it. I also did a Pink Saturday post on it, but I wasn't able to get all of the beautiful inside shots that you got because the restaurant was open when we got there. I was disappointed we didn't see any ghosts, though!
