St. Patrick's Day Table

A GREEN TABLE:

Here at StoneGable we are getting ready to celebrate St. Paddy's Day. Even though we are not Irish, we will be that day!

The table is decorated in a green and natural color theme. I have heard it said that "all greens go together". Although I don't completely agree with this, it is amazing how greens play so nicely together. Hopefully, this table exemplifies that adage.

The plates are two very different greens as is the placemat.

The dinner plate is dark green with a heavily detailed grape motif. It is rimmed with an oil bronzed-look band.  A salad plate in the same pattern was added to give height but cannot easily be seen. (HomeGoods)

The top salad plate is a pale icyceladon green. It's deep and detailed band has just a hint of brown to highlight the raised design and compliment the bronze band in the dinner plate. (HomeGoods)

The plates sit on a simple round celery green straw placemat. It is just a little darker in tone than the salad plate. (HomeGoods)

Topping the salad plate is a true celery green linen napkin caught up in a woven napkin ring with fun olive green beads. The napkin was folded accordion style, folded in half, threaded through the ring and fluffed. Easy, yet it makes a big statement on this table. (Pottery Barn for both)

A natural colored linen inspired tablecloth keeps the palate soft. (Target) I thought white would be too harsh for the look I wanted. This tablecoth takes much less care than it's natural linen counterpart. It can be machine washed and irons effortlessly! It may not have the elegant hand or detailed hemstitching of real linen, but the trade-off of easy care ( and not dry cleaning) is worth it to me!

Green-splashed goblets bring a little fun and sass to the table. (HomeGoods)

The flatware  Napoleon Bee, from Wallace, is a new addition to my collection. I have a thing about bees!  I had admired this tableware on several decorating blogs and just knew I'd save my pennies to get it. But, I didn't have to save long. Bobby gave a set to me as a gift. Thanks, honey!

A large oil-rubbed bronze planter with a cocoa liner holds a fluffy Aspargras fern. After it graces the table it will eventually makes it's way to the porch. (Ken's Gardens)

Three crackled porcelain pears sit at the base of the urn.

Soft green pillar candles in tall glass clyinders are surrounded by smooth pebbles.

Curly willow twigs were added to give interest to the table and continue the natural feel. Pebbles were strewn along the path of the curly willow. I love "sticks and twigs" and use them often in decorating. Look for an upcoming post about decorating with them.

We are having friends for an Irish inspired dinner.
