I am the unofficial queen of puff pastry! I love love love it... and use it all the time!
Today I'm sharing how to make a VERY easy and elegant pizza using my favorite crust... puff pastry!
It's easy enough for a weeknight meal and fancy enough for company! In other words, Puff Pastry Pizza is a real crowd pleaser...
Once you learn the easy process for making this pizza it can be transformed so many ways! Add your favorite toppings and sauces and cheeses!
This is what I call an... It's Not Rocket Science Recipe! Use as much of one thing or as little of another... there is really no right or wrong way to make this pizza as long as you follow the easy process!
Very Yummy!
StoneGable Easy Puff Pastry Pizza
1 package of puff pastry
pizza sauce. 3 TBS (jarred)
your favorite cheese (mine has a mix of shaved Parmesan, provolone and mozzarella)
pepperoni, cut into slices
marinaded artichoke hearts, drained and sliced
cherry tomatoes, chopped
fresh basil, chopped
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Gently roll out a puff pasty sheet to fit a tart pan with a removable bottom. Make sure your puff pastry is large enough to cover the sides! My tart pan measures 8 x 11 1/2 inches.
Line the tart pan and the sides with the puff pastry. Gently press the puff pastry into the sides of the tart pan and cut off any excess puff pastry that overhangs the pan.
Score the edges all the way around the pan next to the sides with a knife. Do not cut all the way through. Prick the bottom of the puff pastry with a fork. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Put the tart pan on a baking sheet and bake the puff pastry for 10 minutes.
Remove the tart pan from the oven and top the pastry with tomato sauce, cheeses and artichoke hearts.
Return the pan to the oven and cook for 20 minutes longer.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped tomatoes and basil.
Remove the sides of the pan and cut the pizza into diagonal slices.
If you are serving this as an hors d'oeuvres cut the pizza into squares.
Easy Puff Pasty Pizza has a fabulous flaky crust... and it will go F-A-S-T!
This pizza is a must try... it will become a delicious favorite with your family or company!
Remember to
I love puff pastry too, beautiful presentation, and I appreciate the tip on refrigerating it a few minutes before baking~

What brand puff pastry do you prefer?
ReplyDeleteThe only brand my grocer's carry is Pepperidge Farms. Just make sure to look at the expiration date and pick the freshest one!

ReplyDeleteOh my, what is not to love about puff pastry. Is it not one of the best ever foods. I made my own once for creme horns and that was an experience. I was happy that it turned out pretty well considering I was getting my feet wet with that recipe. I do find the store bought to be very handy and nice to have on hand for just the sort of thing....pizza.....my favorite food ever. Thanks for sharing. I have subscribed to the Puff Pastry site and they send emails regularly with all sorts of recipes and ideas. I file them away for someday.

I, too, am a frequent user of puff pastry but have never used it for pizza. That is about to change.

ReplyDeleteThis looks scrumptious! I have done a similar pizza with crescent roll dough as it is a bit more economical but I may have to shell out the extra and try puff pastry next time.

Your instructions say to score the edges all around the sides but don't cut all the way through. Can you prick the sides or do you have to use a knife?
ReplyDeleteThis looks so very good! I love that this is an easy recipe but is fancy enough to impress company. Pizza is a favorite of ours and I hadn't thought to use puff pastry as the crust. Thanks for inspiring a meal for us for a night this week!
