I know yesterday was Ground Hog day... and that horrid little vermin predicted 6 more weeks of winter.. but aren't most of us ready for Spring? Today I'm sharing 5 easy tips to bring early Spring to your table!
Five little ways you can add harbinger's of Spring to your table and home...
1. ADD POTS OF HERBS TO YOUR TABLE AND DECOR...
Herbs... they smell fabulous, are easy to find and bring some green life to our tables and kitchen! Herbs can grow indoors in the right conditions and bring the sweet smell of warmer days along with them!
Put them in little whitewashed posts. And don't forget to snip them and use them!
Stop back on Saturday... I 'm sharing my winter into spring indoor herb garden!
2. USE LOTS OF STICKS AND TWIGGY ELEMENTS
I never pass up a great stick, twig, willow ball or branch! They can be used to give a natural or brambly feel to decor!
Perfect for early Spring!
Twigs and twine are great for tying up herbs in pots!
Willow balls in nests are ideal for this time of year!
And now's the time to switch from cloth placemats to more organic versions! This placemat reminds me of a nest!
3. Add A Little Green To The Table And Decor...
Nothing will brighten up your table and home like a pop of green!
Green added to black and white is so so sassy!
And greens added to white and natural browns have a very organic soft feel!
4. START FORCING BRANCHES... REAL AND FAUX
Who says you have to wait until late March or April to enjoy blooming branches! Force them now or buy great faux branches and use them liberally!
Put a little green moss in the bottom of faux branches... great look!
5. DIG OUT THOSE NESTS!
Nests work all year long, but right now they are such a welcomed sight! It is NEVER too early to display nests! They are adorable and are the quintessential spring "thing"!
Fix early spring blooms around a nest...
Add them to your dishes and displays...
And they look perfectly at home on a well placed branch.
As I'm writing this it is snowing and blowing outside. I love the snow, but I'm ready for Spring and all the life it brings!
It may be winter outside, but inside spring is in the air... and on the table... and around the house!

ReplyDeleteI love all your tips!
I'm dreaming, too, of Spring and all the NATURAL beauty it brings.
Thanks so much for sharing, Yvonne.
Have a beautiful week,
Suzanne
Great tips and such pretty images. We are I the midst of a snowstorm right now so I REALLY want to think about spring!

Such lovely ideas, especially the pots of herbs! I could definitely use a little spring right now!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post. Although the sun is shining for the moment there is snow on the ground and we are expecting 4 more storms in the coming week. We do need the moisture but I have cabin fever. Your post from yesterday was absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing your inspiration and insight.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, you passed on great tips for those of us who are "Decorating Challenged." I appreciate it so very much. Oh, by the way, I took your advise on the white dishes. Purchased two (2) 45 piece setting of the Mikasa American Countryside white dishes from Macy's this weekend. Can hardly wait for them to be delivered. Also picked up several accessory pieces from Home Goods and TJ Maxx to mix and match with the AC pattern. Love your blog and your style and the best part we are sisters in Christ.
ReplyDeleteI am sitting here reading in the sunshine... enjoying tour tips and some beautiful spring like weather. 72 degrees..... bright sunshine and a sweet breeze. Birdsong and wind chimes. Sending some your way... I luv life in Florida.
ReplyDeleteOver the weekend I added some Granny Smith apples for the green. Feeling like spring!
Great tips and gorgeous photos, Yvonne! Have a wonderful week!

I love the idea of herbs on the table and in the kitchen. I live in Alberta, Canada and we won't see spring until late March or April maybe even later some years. We had a great break in January with warm temperatures (for us) even above zero and melting :-) I'll look forward to seeing your indoor herb garden.
ReplyDeleteLove all these tips and do many of them myself! I just posted a new GREEN table (DREAMIMG of the tropics) today. I also called you eartlier. Hope to talk soon!!! XOXO
ReplyDeleteHi Maam Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteI pampered D´Box a week ago. I am tired with the snow (not even half of what we had) last winter, so I added some colors in my lounge and around the cottage. It feels Spring-y inside and winter outside. LoL*
Added some candles and lit them. As cozy as can be.
Just simple and doesn't even cost.
Hope you visit Stockholm although, it is not so flashy but, I rest assure it's another kind of life overthere.
Njoy the rest of the week.
Greetings,
/CC girl
I am a twig and vine girl too and also love using them with various types of mosses. I was picking fresh lemons a couple of weeks ago at my brother's house and yanked down some old vines to take home (had the neighbors wondering why I was bringing them home instead of sticking them at the curb for the garbage.) Always nice to see your lovely ideas.

What lovely ideas! Twigs and vines...anytime is fine- is so true! Great post, as always!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips Yvonne…always love seeing your beautiful decor of bird nests and branches so wonderfully appointed!..Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love the green moss, where do you get that? and I tried to "Pin" it and it said the link was misspelled?? Is anyone else having trouble pinning it or is the problem on my end? :-/

I love all your ideas! I've never tried forcing branches before, and I like the idea of using willow balls and fresh herbs. Green always looks like spring! It can't get here fast enough for me, especially after Snowmegeddon….
