VALENTINE BUTTON HEART DIY

I have a little crush on white pearly buttons!

I collect them... but have never really used them until recently. Many of my buttons were my grandmother and mother's... and I can remember some of the clothes they were on!

Here's an easy-peasy pretty VALENTINE BUTTON HEART PICTURE DIY to show off some  Valentine love...

Today I'm part of...

Make sure to check out all the sweet blogs participating at the end of this post!

This button heart is so special to me! If you look closely you will see little heart buttons here and there.

When my daughter was a little girl, I loved making her clothes. If a pattern called for buttons I usually added little hearts. I always told her these were to remind her that my heart was so full of love for her.

And even though she is all grown up these hearts now remind me of those wonderful days when a little girl would throw her delicate arms around me and give me the sweetest kisses and hugs and say, "Mommy, I love you!" SIGH!

  18. Hi Yvonne, I'm a button collector too--so many special ones from my kids clothes when they were little and older ones from grandmothers and aunts. This heart is a wonderful way to use some of them. Thanks for the inspiration, as always! Linda

  19. Sweet idea, Yvonne. Many years ago, my mother gave me the button case that had belonged to my grandmother. It was filled with vintage pearl buttons from both my grandmother and mother. Many of the buttons had been removed from garments that were no longer useful, thus saved for new clothes. In 2001, I made a crazy quilt in all white / neutral fabrics. I used the vintage mother of pearl buttons to embellish the squares. It was a major project and one I'm most proud of. One day I'm going to share a post on this piece. ;-)
