Every season has it's own culinary personality in my StoneGable kitchen. And I love each one.
Winter is warm and infused with roasting scents and onions and clementines and lots of hot chocolate and coffee!! I like to wipe the counter tops and surfaces clean and bare and let the kitchen breathe!
This year I added a kitchen cart to the end of the island and stocked it with some of my favorite white things...
I've been eyeing this cart for awhile at my local Pottery Barn Outlet...so when it went on clearance sale, I could not resist!
I moved my favorite French chicken lamp to the top shelf of the cart and sat her on a couple of well loved cookbooks.
The top shelf also holds a trio of mismatched white mixing bowls, and a row of small pitchers. I just can't seem to get enough of small white pitchers!
The bottom shelf holds my rabbit covered dish...
a bowl of onions, shallots and garlic...
and some of my most used cookbooks!
I think the kitchen cart will stay through Winter and maybe through spring!

Cute idea. I am a big fan of your chicken lamp. Definitely an idea I would use if I had more room in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHappy today Yvonne.
Love your cart! And your kitchen, chicken lamp, rabbit covered dish, your....
ReplyDeleteIt should definitely stay!
Blessings,
Cindy
Very cute, Yvonne. Love the cart and your styling! The closest PB outlet to me is 2 1/2 hours away - drat!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. And I love how you've dressed it with some of your favourite things.
ReplyDeleteLove the cart…and the chicken lamp! The lamp made me smile as we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of chickens this Spring. We have had several over the last couple of years, but a fox and her baby took all of them on one night. )-: We forgot only one night to close the hatch on their coop. It was so sad because they were the ones that lay blue eggs and were absolutely beautiful. Have a fantastic day!
ReplyDeletePottery Barn Outlet you say??? I may have to make a trip out to Lancaster to check that one out!!! Your cart looks so cute at the end of the kitchen island. And you have filled it with so many nice things to easily access. Great idea and a great look!
ReplyDeleteXO Barbara
Great cart! I like how you filled it and your cute lamp adds the final touch. Enjoy your cart in the Winter/ Spring.
ReplyDeleteKnow what you mean about letting "it breathe". In January I like to take all the foo foo down and stay simple and clean. I'm a new blogger and enjoy your blog.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea and how you have it styled!

I am a big fan of white pitchers too! I really wish we had a PB outlet around here.
ReplyDeleteYvonne I love that wicker cart and love how you style it! I would never put her away...she looks great there:) I found a three tier wicker stand in Pier 1 over the summer and put it at the end of my counter...I too added all my white dishes and bowls to it.
ReplyDeleteLove the cart! I don't actually have room in my kitchen for one but it's nice to see how you decorated it. I've always had trouble in January of what to put on my shelves...I have lots of stuff for spring (I too have a bunny covered dish) but never put that out until closer to Easter...this makes me rethink that though...love the ideas.
ReplyDeleteYou must be the "cart lady". Love your cart ideas and the other one you did with the paint chips. Carts have been around for many years and love how you bring out new and updated ways to display and use them. Pretty the lamp too!
ReplyDeleteJudy
I guess I must be! Just love them! You made me smile! Thanks!
DeleteVery pretty, Yvonne! It holds everything so nicely and I'll bet it gives you some extra counter space. Love that lamp!
ReplyDeleteLove the cart and the items on it! Very kitchen-beautiful! Wish I had room for a cart in mine.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Yvonne! You've filled it perfectly ... I "want" your roo lamp! :)
ReplyDeleteYour style is beautiful. Sweet little rabbit covered dish!
ReplyDeleteDeb
That's a great look! Love the addition of the chicken lamp! I have a small accent table in the kitchen area with a bottom shelf that I could display some cook books on....you've given me a new idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the cart and everything on it, especially the chicken lamp and the rabbit dish. My sweet mother had a rabbit container just like that--a special memory. I would love a lamp like yours. I have a huge rooster on my island. A lamp like that on the hutch would tie everything together. You've given me some ideas...like you always do!
ReplyDeleteI love the bunny dish! So cute, and the little wheels on the bottom of the cart, darling!
ReplyDeleteI adore the way you've decorated this bar cart, it adds interest and comfort to your already beautiful kitchen.
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful!!! I need one like this......my dinning room is miles away from the kitchen and it would be great to have a cart to "transport" the items there.
ReplyDeleteLove that cart!...I think It is so wonderful to be able to have a wonderful item such as yours at the end of a kitchen island...so great for storage and displaying all of your pretties!!
ReplyDeleteLove the cart - and that has to be super handy for extra storage......wondering if you should consider painting the tubes black, though - I like the natural colour of the wicker, but the weird matching brown metal - dunno - I think black or white (black my choice) may look better. I usually don't say these kinds of things, hope you don't mind - you know I would never be mean to you - but just a thought. I think - to me- that weird brown makes it look cheap, which even on clearance is danged near impossible with PB anything.
ReplyDeleteAnother colour could be muted brushed nickel? xxoo
Great look! Wish I had room in our kitchen for a cart or drink station like you've put together. Fun to see all the white grouped together. You are inspiring me, Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteLoved it when I saw it on Google+ Yvonne and I love it even more seeing it again over here! Such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteVanessa
I love it! It looks so great Yvonne. I have a bar too that needs a cart! I must tell my hubby I have solved the kitchen island dilemma...he is a farmer and insists on setting the egg basket (filled with eggs yes....) on the center island, the milk...the farmer's produce...
ReplyDeleteI told him it was a kitchen not a farm stand! But this would solve everything in my life...well not in my life but in my kitchen!
Love it!
Debbie
Love love love the rabbit dish!! He would so fit in with the other rabbits in my house. Just can't seem to get enough of them! Love the cart too. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteJulia from SC
I have a weakness for white pitchers too, and I especially like the one you have that says 'cream'. The white looks perfect against the texture of the cart, and what more could we ask for than for something that is practical AND pretty?!
ReplyDeleteOk, maybe chocolate ;)
The perfect addition to your beautiful kitchen, Yvonne! Love how you styled it with you favorites!
ReplyDeleteCute cart...and handy! But, your chicken lamp steals the show! ;)
ReplyDeleteHey Yvonne, I think your cart is great. I love everything about the way you styled it. It just works for me. I always get so inspired when I read your blog and as always I take some great ideas away from it. Thank you. Brenda from Kentucky
ReplyDeleteLove the creamware Yvonne. I am always on the lookout for a brass bamboo bar car!
