Welcome to
HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!
Christmas has come to StoneGable... well sorta!
It's come to PART of StoneGable... let me explain...
This is me...
Many of you probably know that I had a little knee cap surgery two weeks ago. Well... that little knee cap surgery turned into a big fat knee cap surgery ON BOTH KNEES!
A surgery that will keep me off my feet most of the time... for six weeks!
Even though I have Christmas Spirit in my heart... my halls are only partially decked out for Christmas.
Even though I have Christmas Spirit in my heart... my halls are only partially decked out for Christmas.
So, this year, I have taken a much more sane approach to Christmas decor. It's simpler. serene and fuss free... no more real greens, I've used faux! A big big switch for me!
I am thrilled to be a part of...
Last year I cleaned out all my Christmas bins and got rid of decades of Holly Jolly chotchkies.
What I now decorate with all lots of greens, pinecones and natural materials!
I am thrilled to be a part of...
The homes on the tour are AMAZING! So creative and full of Christmas inspiration! What an absolute treat! The list of homes is at the end of this post.
Okay, let's turn up the Christmas music, grab a cookie and a cup of your favorite libation... and let's get started!
My dining room is decorated in in an ALL IS CALM... ALL IS BRIGHT theme.
Paperwhites are in full bloom now...
The antique tool chest is filled with frosty white greens and snowflakes...
They are flanked by two lanterns decorated with this years signature colors... black and white.
By adding just a few pinecones, stars, snowflakes, and pitchers of greens my dining room hutch was transformed into a Christmas cupboard!
Margaux is the most recent addition to the dining room... and she's bringing a little surprise!
Isn't it fun to add a little splash of color?
Looking into the dining room from the work-in-progress foyer!
I think the dining room looks almost frosty!
I think the dining room looks almost frosty!
Here's a little Christmas cheer in the foyer!
Boxwood wreaths up the stairs...
And on the mirror...
And a splash of Christmas fun...
Across the foyer is the living room... very simple dressed up for Christmas...
I took these pictures late in the afternoon when the sun makes this room glow...
Look how the light almost shines through the porcelain figures of Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
My coffee filter wreath hangs on the mirror above the sofa. Stop back Saturday to see how I made it...
so so easy and very inexpensive!
And a matching tree sits on the curlacue chest.
A little forest of glass trees on a mirror table...
And speaking of trees... our foyer tree...
This year it's decorated in whites...lots of white paper lanterns and white snownball ornaments.

It's absolutely gorgeous, Yvonne. I can't imagine trying something like this, while recovering from knee cap surgery. Kudos to you.
ReplyDeleteHope your recovery is a speedy one!
Merry Christmas!

Yvonne,
ReplyDeletePraying that your recovery is still progressing well, dear friend!!!
Although our color palette is a "tad" bit different,
we both have taken the more simplistic approach to Christmas decor!
...and like you, I really edited those Christmas tubs last January!!!
I'm finding a sense a tranquility in my own home, too.
The photos of your Nativity are so serene. . .
Thank you for sharing your lovely Home Tour with us!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Yvonne, you are amazing. Only you could accomplish this beauty in such a compromising state. Always inspiring, always fun to visit! A speedy healing, sweet lady!
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous Yvonne, I don't know how you're doing it with having surgery...I love the touches of white. I've been buying all new ornaments and garlands this year because I noticed I hadn't been updating my holiday stash in a long time...The paper lanterns you added are a wonderful tip. Thanks so much for sharing it and you're in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteLovely, it so calming. I'm having shoulder issues so I can sympathize with decorating - I'm just using one arm and it's slo-mo.
ReplyDeleteHope that your recovery is a speedy one.
Merry Christmas!
Leann
It's beautiful Yvonne ... a winter wonderland. Hope your recovery is going well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Yvonne! I hope your recovery is going well! ~Sally
ReplyDeletePositively stunning , Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteYou make decor a magical thing.. applause applause~!
Take a bow,as you virtually hear thunderous applause from all over the world.

Oh my, dear one! Please get well soon. I have to say that I feel really inadequate. Your house looks like a showroom. Yet my house is in complete shambles and my legs work fine. Ah well, it's now finals week for me. Maybe after school ends on Tuesday.... :)
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful natural décor! I'm ready to clean out all the Christmas tubs too. Heal fast!
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking about how frustrating it must be for you to be off your feet for so long~but I know your brain is buzzing with ideas for next year! Your home is beautiful with all the white and green, but I am crazy about what you did in the foyer, it really pops out after the mostly white everywhere! I am using white gold and silver only in our main room [a first for this color lover] and am really enjoying it. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home, and speedy recovery wishes!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Love it! So sorry to hear about your knee surgery, but it looks like you're still doing an amazing job decorating. I can't wait until I have a beautiful home like this to spruce up :)

Stunning Yvonne!! Your home looks so very beautiful and festive all decked out for Christmas! I wish I could come over for some hot coco!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job, Yvonne! Your home is beautiful without the decorations so adding simply just enhances it. I went simple this year, too, which is good because my back went after I put the bins back in the attic. I hope your recuperation goes quickly.
ReplyDeleteThey always say "less is more" and in this instance, they're absolutely right! Tale care of those knees.
ReplyDeleteBarbF
I hope you're taking it easy and healing well, sweet friend! Your holiday home is stunning, to say the least! I love your white, silver and green dining room and what cute snowball ornaments on your tree! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks absolutely beautiful! I have no idea how you got it all done with just having had surgery. I hope you have a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks beautiful all decorated for Christmas Yvonne! I hope your knees are healing quickly.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, I just happened to click over and saw you were laid up! I am SO sorry! Both knees? Yikes!
ReplyDeletei understand some of what you are going through as I have been recuperating from a very bad fall that took me to the ER. There were many miracles, but my knee's healing is still manifesting. I didn't beak it, but I tore muscle that bled out and was the scariest thing I have ever seen, but amazingly, The Lord was so good and has gotten me through. I know with your strong belief in Him that your recovery will go well. I just hate to see you laid up at Christmas.
Your decorating looks wonderful! I like the new look. Very calm and serene. I have a ton of old ornaments, but being a magpie, I can't bring myself to part with them, plus our godchildren are still fairly young. But I know the day will come when I decide that the ornaments of old should be passed on to others or to Salvation Army.
Sending you a get well hug.
xo

It looks as good as it can be, and I'm sure you enjoyed staging the photos as you recover, I hope those knees heal quickly. I hope to hold my surgery off for another year or two ….
ReplyDeleteWell, dear you have done a fabulous job decorating. My favorite is the foyer. Wish I lived closer so I could come visit.
ReplyDeleteI happen to agree with "Anonymous" comment too...I love the uncontrived look of decorating...and you absolutely perfected it in these photos. I also wish you a speedy recovery and I send my prayers your direction today.
ReplyDeleteRita
Everything is lovely, as always, Yvonne. I'm so sorry that you're still in pain with your knees, but soon you'll be dancing. What a wonderful friend Katie must be to help you decorate for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAnd I couldn't tell your greenery was faux. It's all so beautiful. I love the paperwhites. I need to force some bulbs, too. One of my favorite things about this time of the year.
I can't wait for your coffee filter wreath and Christmas tree tutorials.
Your decor is amazing! I love those paperwhites! I never remember to do those! Hope you recovery real quickly! Take care! - Shelley
ReplyDeleteYvonne- even when you are layed up , you manage to create perfection! Everything is beautiful....as always. Was Bobby busy or what! Happy Holidays to you and your family. Take Care.
ReplyDeletePS- is that you image of santa in your header- it is amazing.
Gorgoues Yvonne, I love the simpler look and this is right up my alley especially with the use of black and white!! Merry Christmas to you and yours and wishing you a speedy recovery,
ReplyDeleteKathysue
Yvonne, I am so sorry to learn that you are really laid up after surgery! However, I think you have done a fabulous job of decorating with very nice faux greenery and frosty snowflakes making your home look very elegant. It really is beautifully done! I like the use of the white paper lanterns on your Christmas tree. It's quite unique and pretty. Do take care and be well soon. Hugs, Pamela
ReplyDeleteB-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L, as always. I have such a hard time finding "very nice" red ribbon. Do tell where you got it and the black checked ribbon. LOVING the chevron paper too! Lovely how you hung the wreaths on the banister without going over the top of it leaving such nice clean lines. I'm tired of my PB magnolia garland....think it is time to ditch it and start with a fresh new idea next year. I'm sure you are miserable (I've had 20 surgeries over the years), but just take this time to sit back and truly enjoy all the beauty before you. Here's to a blessed Christmas and Wonderful New Year.
ReplyDeleteApplause, applause. It all looks beautiful - and yes, serene. I don't know if you had everything done before the surgery, but needless to say there is always last minute fussing that happens with big events and reveals.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a restful time and healthy recovery.
Everything looks amazing! And to have completed this even with having surgery - amazing! It's a Christmas miracle! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the boxwood wreaths on the staircase especially and your entire dining room is perfection.
Just beautiful, Yvonne! Absolutely stunning. I do hope you're healing well!
ReplyDeleteYour house looks stunning. I can't imagine it could have been better with two good knees.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, whatever you do is always so beautiful! You have a very special talent/gift. I love it all! I hope you did all gorgeous decorating before your surgery. Bless your heart! Praying for a quick and total recovery! May you and your family have a very blessed Christmas! :D
ReplyDeleteEverything is lovely!!! My house never even looks a fraction that good and I have perfectly fine kneecaps!
ReplyDeleteSO gorgeous and pretty and white! Love it all, can't believe you pulled that off with two bum knees :( Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Yvonne! I can't image decorating while recovering from surgery. Your home is gorgeous as always... love all the red and white... so festive! So excited to be on tour with you!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! So beautiful.....you really captured the essence of Christmas magic at its most elegant!!! I cannot even believe you have done all this while recovering from surgery!! You are an amazing superwoman! What a stunning home you have created Yvonne..so impressed. Thanks for sharing and feel better!

Yvonne, continuing to pray for a restful recovery. I've had to cut back this season due to some back issues. It's been very hard, but necessary. I, too, am getting rid of the red and green chotchkies. Going all white, silver, and clear. I love it. Fondly, Tami
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS Yvonne...and always full of inspiration!! Praying for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks BEYOND beautiful!!! I love the softness of the neautral palette, it so suits you. I love those glass trees and I LOVE the tree!! I was surprised to see the touches of red but love them. Where did you find the red boots, SO perfect! The foyer is looking beautiful, did you paint the chest tha was there???? Called you today, will talk to you hopefully tomorrow. XOXO

ReplyDeleteYvonne, your Christmas home is such a delight and you must be enjoying the beauty in every room while you recouperate. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteStunning, Yvonne. It is like a snowy wonderland.
ReplyDeleteHow did you manage to get this done? Pre-surgery I hope. Take care and heal well, sweet friend.
Just beautiful, Yvonne...a winter wonderland, for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that you're still laid up post-op but thank goodness you got so much done prior to your surgery. You are one organized woman!

In
looking forward to Saturday to make the coffee filter wreath, so very clever !!
Beautiful, Beautiful! Love the simplicity of your decorating and I'm all into simplicity - isn't there a saying about "less is more"? You've used my favorite colors, black & white. Also LOVE the pillow with the wreath on it - would you be so kind as to tell where this delightful item could be found? It would look wonderful on my sofa. Now, I'm off to put the finishing touches on my kitchen table - take care and hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteSandy

Yvonne...You did a BEAUTIFUL job decorating your lovely home for Christmas! It's a real credit and feat that you pulled this off amidst being sofa-bound with double knee surgery! Many kudos to you and a blessed and Merry Christmas to you and your family! Cheers, Mary
ReplyDeleteMy gosh your home is stunning! Have a speedy recovery. I'll be back to see how you made the coffee filter wreath.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, can you tell me what your white dishes are? They are so beautiful.... I did see a casserole type dish with a rabbit on it and a chicken coverd dish!
ReplyDeleteHope your recovery is quick and complete - know it is hard for you to be down - especially this time of year. Your home is beautiful - so welcoming.
ReplyDeleteI would like to ask where you found the snowflakes on the stands - they look so pretty on your china hutch.
Thank you -
Merry Christmas!
Karen
C'mon, Yvonne...admit it. You got tangled up with the wrong people and ended up getting your knee caps busted! :-) Just kidding, of course! I feel for you. Having just spent so much time recovering from that stupid shoulder surgery, I know the pain, the discomfort, the aggravation...all of the things you shouldn't have to feel, especially this time of year! I really hope the PT goes well and that you are able to be back up on your twinkle toes in no time. Meanwhile, everything you've done is terrific!!!!!!!! You're not one to let a little thing like knee cap surgery keep you from creating a truckload of fabulosity!!!!! Feel better!
ReplyDeleteWell, my friend...your home is simply stunning in all of its Christmas finery! I so love the calm sereneness to all of your Christmas decorations this year. The tree in the foyer is just perfect. What a great idea to use paper lanterns! They look like snowballs. Surely you've started a new trend. You're in my prayers every day.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breath taking....what a beautiful home! Just relax for a while and enjoy the view and hope your recovery is a fast one! Merry Christmas and thank you for all your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Hi Yvonne, Hope you are feeling better. Your home looks fabulous! Love that you tried something new with the greenery and the bright whites in the living room are perfect for this time of year, very nice! I love the lanterns on the tree, how darling! What a creative idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to see part two of your tour now! Hope you have a lovely holiday season.
Gorgeous and so elegant and warm at the same time! Your home is dreamy! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMiss Bloomers
I hope you're feeling better Yvonne! I love your holiday home - all the details are so festive, cheery and gorgeous! I especially love your Christmas tree! I've never seen paper lanterns hung in a tree like that and what a stunning effect! I also adore the twigs you added to your tree to give it more dimension and texture!! It's been so fun to party with you in this fabulous home tour hop! ~ Heather
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you are feeling better sweet friend! I too went with all faux this year. I normally clips lots from our woods. With all the rain we have had and not having the energy to keep replacing, I just went easier this year! Absolute favorite shot is the foyer!!! Hugs~Christy
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely enchanting! Magazine worthy! You are a superwoman for doing any of this after that big surgery!! :(
ReplyDeleteHope you are healing quickly-
Linsey
