This is a beautiful time of year to look out my windows! The farmland and trees are ablaze with autumn color! My living room is bright and has an ever changing view, thanks to my windows and french doors!
No wonder I have such a hard time choosing paintings for this room... what could compete with the view just beyond my windows...
But there is another view too....
Here is what I can see from my family room looking through the french doors into my living room.
Let's peek in...
I love this view of the living room and I have never shared it before.
Can you see me taking the picture from the french doors?
The tree that sits outside this window is a sugar maple... it looks gold in this picture, but it is really a bright salmon! My favorite!
Here is a shot, again standing in the french door threshold.
I find myself spending more and more time in this room as it inches towards completion! It's the best place in the house to curl up with a good book!
That is... if I can keep my eyes from wandering off the pages of my book to dance around the view outside!

ReplyDeleteI am in love with that picture. Do you happen to have a name or an artist that created it.
ReplyDeleteIt would be perfect in my family room.
David Kessler is a local artist from Washington DC. I have quite a few pieces of his. Here is more info:

I can see why you love it so! And there is nothing like curling up in your favorite spot at the end of a long day and enjoying the fruits of your labor. It's beautiful!

Your living room is so pretty and bright with the lower sun in the sky. You have lovely views through the windows and garden doors. I didn't realize your family room adjoined your living room. I always think this is a great idea if one entertains a large crowd as they can spill over into the adjoining room. Beautiful! Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteYvonne,
ReplyDeleteAmazing views from your room, dear friend!!!
I often miss the Sugar Maples from the other side of the Prairie. . .
I had only to close my eyes to envision exactly what you were able to view.
That same image came into view in my mind's eye!!!
This room is stunning gorgeous!!!
I appreciate how you've taken your followers through the entire process.
Creating a home is truly an evolving process!!!
Fondly,
Pat

That is a beautiful room!! Could you tell me what color of paint that is on the walls?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Sharon
How peaceful is this!
ReplyDeleteSugar maples are just about the most beautiful tree there is. Your living room is stunning! The architecture is just beautiful, and of course, your decor choices impeccable!
ReplyDeleteI liked the way you have elucidated the things to decorate the room and ideas illustrated with the help of images.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous room. Gorgeous views.
ReplyDeletelove what you did to the room...have you thought of a jute rug larger than the one you current have even with a design in black or just plain...thought it would tone down the boldness of the current rug to continue the flow of the subtle natural tone you have created which is quiet lovely...truly love the room but I would choose a simple rug as your attention is drawn directly to the floor where you have the most color displayed
ReplyDeleteNice interiors & beautifully decorated room.
