Our garden is producing overtime right now!!!
The zucchini are always riotous this time of year... and can't be trusted! They look innocent and small and oh, so cute... and within a day look like baseball bats!
The cuke have decided to stretch beyond it's boundaries looking to be upward...and outwardly mobile by using it's wanton ways. It's pretty, flirty tendrils curl and swirl around the eggplants and brussels sprouts hugging those unsuspecting plants so tight... climbing right up and over them to claim more exalted garden territory! They are the most devious social climbers of all vegetables!
My tomatoes are making a pretty showing too... turning from green to red or yellow. I know they will be deliciously juicy!
The peppers, eggplants, celery, onions and leeks still have a bit to go... and when it's their turn will hopefully be as prolific as the rest of the garden.
Now here's what's on my summer menu...

Hi Yvonne! Goodness, your garden is quite lovely. We didn't do a summer garden this year, but are getting it prepped for a fall garden. I miss it. Thank you for hosting. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
ReplyDeleteLovely menu this week with all my favorite vegetables from the garden! Yum!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a way of using seasonal foods...I love that! I'm so going to make those mini tomato pies!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Maybe if I hang out here long enough some of your talent will rub off on me. This is just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a delious menu. All your fresh vegetables will make everything extra flavorful. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks very healthy and happy Yvonne! Enjoy the bounty:@)
ReplyDeletethank you for posting the stuffed zucchini! I got some round ones from the farmer's market and that would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne ,your garden is wonderful and just beautiful. Here in upstate NY gardens are not that prolific yet , too much rain and not enough sun , and lots of humidity which brings mold and slugs a plenty. I'm hoping the rest of the summer will redeem itself to much more pleasant temps and dryer air. I am interested in your newsletter, is it different than your blog ? And if I may humbly make a suggestion , sometime I find it hard to read the weekly" upcoming posts" titles because of the color of the font especially when it's white . it gets lost in the beautiful photo. It's all so beautiful and full of charm ,perhaps a darker font ? Thank you for sharing , and have a blessed week. Hannah
ReplyDeleteYour weekly meals look wonderful this week. I went to a local farmers market this weekend. I picked up some amazing zucchini, squash and mushrooms. Also, some amazing fresh mozzarella from a local Dallas co.
ReplyDeleteI made stuffed squash boats last night using Jamie Deen's recipe. Your recipes are inspiring me - I am definitely going to try the Caprese Towers
Everything looks so yummy, and your garden is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteDelicious and mouthwatering menus as always.
ReplyDeleteWhen I have a glut of courgettes, I either make chutney (which is very delicious) or I freeze them. Yes, I found out by accident that they freeze really well in rounds or ribbons. I just make sure they are thoroughly defrosted and drained before using them in cooked dishes.
Your garden looks fabulous! Our schedule kept us from getting one in this year and seeing those green tomatoes on your vine kills me because it reminds me that I can't have my all time favorite fried green tomatoes on a whim :(
ReplyDeleteOh, what a great post - and blog! I'm definitely a new follower through GFC. Hope that you'll follow back. Would be so great.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week!
I miss having a yard big enough to garden! This year I only have herbs and a single tomato in a pot. Your garden looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteAre these from your garden, Still can't believe it because the vegetables look Photoshopped.
