A NEW CHANDY FOR STONEGABLE

We are slowly moving along with the dining room makeover.

Last evening Bobby and I hung the new chandy... but first we had to figure out where all the crystals, that had fallen to the bottom of the box, were placed on the chandy. What a job!

Lost of crystals... REAL CRYSTALS... on tiny metal rings...

Once I had all the crystals on the chandy, Bobby hung it.

I just love it! The shade is somewhat translucent so the light of the 6 candles shines through it!

The chandy came from Overstocks.com... I can always find a great bargain there!

We had just finished laying the hardwood floors and quater round molding the last two weeks.

And last week my new head chairs came home to StoneGable.

It's just the beginning... as I continue to make over the dining room I'll show you how I am progressing!

The new oriental comes next week... I am thinking of replacing two of the chairs with an upholstered bench (the rest will be repainted and reupholstered)  and I am searching for some great window treatments!

Now if I could just finalize a paint color!

  5. I'll bet one of the greige colors would look great in here, Yvonne. I love your new chandy! I've always admired that style. I'd love to do something like that in our master bedroom. I think it caters to both male and female tastes. Unfortunately, the only ceiling fixture electrical holds a ceiling fan {which we use all year long}.

I adore how the shade covers the candlebulbs, yet allows them to show through when lighted! Elegance in lighting, indeed!!! Your dining room is moving quickly towards the finish line! Lovely before. . .a vision of loveliness ahead! Thanks for sharing your newest find with us!

  26. for me i do not like the drum type over the crystals, you can't see the whole effect of candle lighting, but that's just me. but drum shadea remind me of the 50's not a very good decorating time. but different stokes.i know it may be popular just not for me

  35. Very pretty especially the new chairs. Although benches look nice and are on trend, as someone who has sat at them they are not very comfortable or practical. There is no back support and when once person needs to get up from the table the bench needs to be moved by both people. It is also hard to scoot it up close to the table. Try taking your hubby and using one together and see before you decide.

  39. Your chandy and dining room are so beautiful and serene. I am so enjoying your blog, it is like a breath of fresh air every day. As I look at your dining room a fabric for your window treatments came to mind. American Alpaca Textiles (http://www.americanalpacatextiles.com)has a beautiful light and airy fabric called Strata in their earth collection - and they are in Pennsylvania too! (I am not connected to the company in any way except that I too raise alpacas)
