Hi Everyone! Our family has had a busy busy weekend laying hardwood floors. The dining room was finished last night and the living room was finished minutes ago!
Now we are wildly busy, bringing everything in from the front porch, filling bathtubs and pots and utility tubs with water. We are scheduled to get a direct hit from Hurricane Sandy!!! It's so hard for us to believe. Right now it is rainy and windy... but by this time tomorrow we should be in the thick of the hurricane.
We are well stocked and safe. It is most likely that we will loose electricity so I'll post when I can!
Please pray for all who are affected by the weather...
Because of all the extra work I have not had time to chose features this week.... so sorry! I'll have two weeks worth of features next week!

Yvonne: Another great week of menus. We have leftover beef and barley soup (your recipe) that I made last week in the freezer.
ReplyDeleteWe are on Long Island so I know how you feel. We don't have to worry about water but we do have to worry about loosing power. We were without power during Hurricane Irene for three days.
Good luck, stay safe and stay dry. Prayers for all in harms way.

ReplyDeleteYvonne, stay safe! Sending prayers to you and everyone in the path of Sandy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Yvonne, and I also spent the last couple of days preparing for Sandy. I am expecting power outages here, too. Stay safe and dry. xo
ReplyDeleteWe are ready here in NJ for Sandy. The real problem for us aside from high winds is the swelling all the creeks and rivers. Everything is cancelled for tomorrow...schools, church activities...even my hubby's office which is the corporate office for UPS is closed.
ReplyDeleteStay safe Yvonne, hopefully we will both weather the storm successfully! God bless.
We are preparing for Sandy too. The winds are picking up here on Long Island but so far no rain. It is on its way though.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
Yvonne please stay safe. We were without power for 7 days in July...not fun but we were so much better off than some. I'll be thinking of you and whispering prayers.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in my thoughts! Stay safe!!!
ReplyDeleteSaying a prayer for your safety and all those in the path of the storm. Be safe Yvonne!

Yvonne, I hope that you do not lose power so that you can cook those awesome looking short ribs tomorrow! Just kidding! I'm hoping and praying that the storm will not be as bad as predicted and that you will be out of harm's way.
ReplyDeleteBe safe!
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne! I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. I am hoping the Sandy turns out to be as sweet to you all as her name implies. One of my oldest and dearest friends has homes in Scarsdale and Montauk. If it gets ugly, why don't you all come stay with me in Idaho. Thanks for the party and I will be looking forward to that short rib crock pot recipe whenever you can post. Thanks Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteBig, big hugs,
Susan and Bentley
You are in my prayers Yvonne, with a house on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, we have been through hurricanes too many times. Scary times. I will pray for your new hardwood floors also! Stay safe and I hope you get to enjoy some of your delicious menu items!
ReplyDeleteJenna
I see your menu is a lot more optimistic than mine Yvonne... I have bread, peanut butter, apples and a manual can opener! Hope the storm amounts to nothing more than a lot of wind and some rain. Glad to hear your flooring project is coming along nicely:@)
ReplyDeleteHello Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you, we are in the think if it as I type this and it is scary! The wind and the rain are unbelievable! Although I think that every time we are in a hurricane. It never gets any less scary.
High tide is coming and this is the worst and most scary for a lot of people.
Be safe!
Looking forward to your beautiful makeover.
Elizabeth
I claim the Lord's protection for you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteI have a link this week! I am also praying for all of us on Sandy's path. It is hard to believe this is happening. Stay safe and we will try to do the same. IF we don't lose our power I plan to get ALOT done in the basement. XOXOXO

Praying you fare well during the storm! We were braced for a lot of wind and rain on the Carolina Coast, even though it wasn't to make landfall here, but got very little! Hope it is very mild for ya'll!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the party! Looking for some new recipes, and I think I'll find some good ones here! :)
Stay safe Yvonne. You and the entire east coast are in our thoughts and prayers. We've been through cat 5 hurricanes and 1's and you just never know which ones will have the most impact on you personally. Glad your floors are in. I know you will really enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteSam
praying for your safety yvonne...here in alabama we are well aware of the fury of hurricanes and tornadoes.
ReplyDeleteWe will be praying for all of those in the path of the storm. Living on the MS Gulf Coast, I have experienced that uncertainty that occurs prior to the arrival of a storm. Take this opportunity (negative as it is) to spend time with your family, pray together, play games together, and eat yummy food. There is a saying on the Gulf Coast that calories do not count during a hurricane! Blessings from Still Woods Farmhouse
ReplyDeleteStay safe, Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteI am inland enough so I hope we only see rain and wind. Take Care!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party. Next week, I'll be co-hosting a party. Please stop by next Sunday night. Have a great weekend!

Sounds like a great meal week! Hope you all stay safe!
ReplyDeleteSpecial blessings and prayers going your way.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, Yvonne! I hope you don't lose power. I know last years storm knocked out power for quite some time for people {my sister for one}. My son is stuck here in Ohio with us for an extra day at least. He came to surprise me for my birthday and they canceled his flight back to NY for this morning, yesterday about noon.
ReplyDeletePraying and hoping that you guys stay safe in the wrath of Sandy!

ReplyDeleteWe are hoping we don't lose power and if we do it won't be for long. Last year at this time we got hit hard with the freak snow storm in southern New York State. I hope the storm passes safely by you. Thank you for the party... it is good to look at recipes instead of worrying.
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness, update when you can, if you can, and we will know you are safe.
