FALL GATHERING BASKET

Today is the day when the NIP comes to September! The windows are flying open to let that glorious fresh welcomed cool air in!

Fall... as far as decorating...comes slowly to StoneGable and evolves like the turning of the leaves... softly at first... then building up... a crescendo of color...

No pumpkins until October. September is for leaves and twigs of bittersweet and autumn kissed natural elements!

My big gathering basket filled with faux bittersweet finds a home on my kitchen table!
Subtle and organic...

I love this big wide basket. It fills my table with early signs of Autumn!

Baskets and bittersweet... signs of fall at StoneGable!

  5. Yvonne, woke up this morning to a cool breeze. I thought, where am I ? I love the look of bittersweet and baskets. I fill our Nantucket baskets with bittersweet each fall, but so far it's not available here in the stores. Pumpkins have just arrived. I agree with you about letting it slowly evolve. I like gentleness!
    Happy weekend to you...........Sarah

  14. Ha! I have the same "pumpkin philosophy"! I hold out on pumpkins till the very end of September or first of October. I think September is all about changing colors and adding warmth and beginning the nesting-in process. It's a wonderful feeling isn't it? Lori Lucas

  15. Yvonne, I agree about Fall arriving slowly...I'm thinking Fall, but the weather isn't.
The temps are still in the 80s here and the mosquitoes attack the minute you step outside. I bought two crotons to put outside in pots but haven't done anything with them yet...need to buy a couple of other plants to finish the pots. I finally stuck one croton in a cache pot and put it in the entry. LOL my attempt at early Fall decorating.
LOVE your basket and bittersweet. I think I'll look for some faux since I never see any fresh here.
    Have a great weekend,
    Babs
