CANISTERS ON PARADE

I try keep my kitchen counters clutter free... but who can resist keeping canisters out in plain sight? Especially when they are glass... and full of really yummy "stuff"!

I love to line them up like they are marching in a CANISTER PARADE...

Glass canisters are both utilitarian and decorative!

I like to use old flea market teacups as scoops!

Don't these snacks look even more tempting in a fun teacup scoop?

I even measure out my flour and sugar in a teacups... most traditional tea cups measure one cup!

I have to restrain myself or my whole kitchen counter would be one parade of canisters!

This year I added a bit of fall to my canister parade!

Come on back this evening for TUTORIALS TIPS AND TIDBITS!

Bring all the things you want to show us and show off!

Link goes live at 8:00 pm!

  2. I like your canister parade..oh so much! They are 'art' and an interesting object of interest with the variety of contents. And the teacups are soooo fun and pretty. Once, years and years ago, I was using a teacup for a scoop and the handle came off and I got a bad cut. But, I'm thinking I was packing it maybe??? with brown sugar...that would use force. Anyway, love your display!

  6. Oh Yvonne, I love your idea of the teacups. I never thought about an original teacup measuring a cup. You just gave me a solution to my ugly measuring cup in my canisters :) I tried to keep my canisters off my counters, but it was to much going back and forth to the pantry.
    Have a great day!

  10. I love your canister parade! And such a lovely idea using old teacups for scooping and measuring! I've been using some old plastic Tupperware scoops but I think it's time to switch them out.

  17. Sorry Yvonne,
I am not sure if it is OK to link the post of my canisters on the top of my kitchen counter. Not fancy as yours but, I love the not so cluttered top.

    TY for inspiring.

  24. I enjoy these canisters also. It is so much better than getting them out of the cabinet every time I bake. I love your web site and I wish I had someone to teach me how to do what you do but don't know where to start. Thanks for sharing.

  29. I love your parade of canisters...especially when they're filled with such yumminess! The tiny pumpkins are so cute! I love the idea of using a pretty teacup for a scoop. I have to get some for my canisters.

  30. Hi Yvonne, Your canisters are reminding me of the ones I used to have back in the 80s--I kept everything in them--flour, sugar, cereal, pasta, and then I put them away. I think they mostly came from Crate and Barrel. I will have to get them out again and fill them with pumpkins and other goodies. Linda

  31. Yvonne,
I have a couple of those glass canisters on my counter--one is filled with the little colorful 'math bears' I used to teach my son counting when he was in kindergarten (he's 14 now!). He would love your snack mix jar; is it a special recipe?

  34. Do you have the dimensions on your canisters? I want to get the look and there are several sizes out there, the size of yours will give me an idea of what I need to buy. Thanks.

  35. I have these same canisters, Yvonne, and love filling them with seasonal goodies! However, I DON'T have beautiful blue and white cups like you do ... just might have to keep my eye out for some! :)
