Today the temperature is rising to almost 80 degrees here in Lancaster County!
This weather beacons me to come dig in the dirt! Even though I know it is not quite time yet.
But look at these sweet little darlings...
I took a trip to our local garden shop and was captivated by all the VIOLAS!
" Orange Sorbet" is a new-to-me color this year! So pretty!
A Little FYI...
Viola is a genus of the flowering plants of the violet family. Pansies are actually a hybrid of the viola. The tiny tricolor viola is also know as a Johnny Jump Up.
But, to me, violas are a tiny version of the pansy. Their precious little "faces" are so happy and bright!
These sweet blooms along with some creeping Jenny will find their way into a planter or two this afternoon. Look for an upcoming post!

I too, am a lover of pansies, violas and violets. We are not quite as warm up here in ne PA but am going shopping today to see if I can find some pansies or violas. Lovely photos....only 7 days until spring!

80 degrees, really!? Love the new orange serbert color. Amy's newest running shoes are trimmed in "peach cream", just like an orangepop. Makes me smile just looking at them! I love that small pleasures can be found in many things..color, pansies and showlaces.
ReplyDeleteI always have some violas at my house--they last in the fall and can be planted in the spring, and I noticed that one of my pots that was left outside has some sprouting! We are going to be in the 70s today too! Hurray for Spring!! Linda

ReplyDeleteYvonne, you know how much I love these little precious darlings. My daughter and I share the same compulsion to garden. Yesterday she bought some tomato plants for her 2nd year of real gardening. It makes me feel so good that it makes her happy. It's definitely Spring in Texas, our wildflowers are blooming profusely and it is beautiful here in the hill country, where I am for the next month. Sending love....

I love how pansies can stand a little cool weather. We plant them in the spring and fall here in the Midwest. Love the pretty cookies!!

So pretty! Violas are special to me, my grandmother's name was Viola and one year I found them growing in our garden much to my surprise as I had not planted them. It must have been a gift from God via a bird or simply the wind. Lovely pictures as we too are getting our taste of spring here...Marann
