SUNDAY SCRIPTURE~ JUNE 12, 2011

Mount of the Beautitudes,  Sea of Galilee,Israel

Your're here to be light, bringing out all the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as a city on a hill.  If I make you a light-bearer, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you?  I'm putting you on a lampstand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a lightstand- SHINE!
Keep open house: be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
Matt 5: 14-18, The Message

  3. It is so true isn't it? People who have the light of Christ literally shine and are a light to others and they are drawn to them and people want to know what is different about them. You are a light Yvonne! I love to read your comments to other people, you are gifted in your ability to put words together and to build people up and that is what Christ did, he built people up in all that he did.

    Have a wonderful Sunday!

  8. Yvonne, lovely verse, and how differently worded in The Message version. Reminds me of when we taught kids sunday school. Mr. CH read a verse and one kid said, ' that's not what my bible says.' Mr. CH tried to explain that there are many different translations of the bible, and he must have a different ome. This boy was unconvinced, he stated very authoritatively, 'Mine is THE HOLY BIBLE.'
