Mount of the Beatitudes, Overlooking the Sea of Galilee, Israel
And He opened His mouth and began teaching them, saying,
Blessed are the poor is spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who morn for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are those who morn for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the gentle for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness , for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful for they shall recieve mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God.
Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me.
Luke 5:2-11
Yvonne, that is breathtaking- amazing that such a serene picture was taken in a country that has been so ravaged. Thank you

I love these scripture verses. I memorized these when I was a teenager while working on my GA (Baptist Church) steps. I remember my mother standing near the stove with the Bible open and I was reciting these same verses. She reviewed these with me over and over until I could say them perfectly. Oh, how I miss her. She gave me such wonderful guidance and direction in life. I try very hard now to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord. I promised her this on her deathbed.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous scene. Beautiful. I love these scriptures. They have such healing and promise in them. Have a Blessed Sunday. Hugs, Marty

Wow. That is quite a picture. I come back to the beatitudes over and over as I often seem in need of beautifying my attitude.
ReplyDeleteI love the Beatitudes...we are working on learning these with our children! I have been inspired by you (in so many ways!) but on this day, to post 'Life Lessons' with a scripture. It has come to light that is there any thing better? I get to do what I love...decorating and give a shout out for the Lord on His day! I am nothing without Him, so wanted to include Him, as you have! I became a believer as an adult and learn so much from raising children! My first post of 'Life Lessons' is today on 'Church without Shoes!' Thank you for your faithful Sunday Scriptures! I made a note about you in my post! Blessings, www.threepixielane.blogspot.com

I visited there in l999 and would love to go back!
ReplyDeleteLuke's Gospel is my favourite because of his overwhelming desire for social justice and his deep faith. This verse epitomizes all of Jesus' values and I love it.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a beautiful week,
Natasha.
