I recently attended a luncheon birthday party given by a dear friend of mine. To our great delight the table was sooooo beautiful and girly! We could all tell that Marilou, our host, put a whole lot of love into her vibrant and oh, so pretty tablescape!
She placed a single rose at each place setting to greet us. It was such a happy surprise!
There is something about getting flowers... and there is a real art to flowers when they are presented with such love and care...
Here is the beautiful rose that greeted me...
Artfully wrapped in a soft scalloped napkin and caught up in a white picket fence napkin ring!
After we all ooooohed and aaaaahed and smelled our rose, they were whisked away and put into a vase of water until we retrieved them as we left.
I often use flowers when setting a table and sometimes artfully pick one or a small bunch to welcome my guest at their places!
Here are a few tablescapes to inspire you to practice the art of flowers at your table!
In this DAFFODIL PROFUSION TABLE over 500 daffodils make a sunny table. I laid one daffodil across white plates and gingham napkins... but when my guest left they each took home a big bouquet!
Who doesn't love peonies? A beautiful, full, fragrant peony is cupped in a footed bowl in this BLUE WILLOW AND PINK PEONY TABLESCAPE
The sweetest little bouquet of lilies of the valley from my garden are all tied up and waiting for my guest at the LILY OF THE VALLEY TABLESCAPE
Wouldn't you love to sit down to a table smelling like lilacs? A bouquet of lilacs and violets in tea cups greet my Mom and me for a LILACS ON THE PORCH~ MOTHER'S DAY
A tulip gracefully draped across a stack of neutral colored plates makes a striking presentation in NEUTRAL AND NATURAL TABLESCAPE
Next time you are having guest for a meal... practice the art of flowers...put one, or a few at each place setting to welcome them!
Remember to
A delightful touch for a beautiful table.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful idea - love the picket fence napkin holder too!
ReplyDeleteI never have a dinner party without flowers ( they're an obsession of mine - one of far too many lol )
Gorgeous photos !
Happy weekend!

Beautiful flowers! Whats your secret to get the ants off of the peonies? I love bringing the peonies in to decorate, but I always bring in a trail of ants as well. Thanks
ReplyDeleteDonna
Me too! Ants are just a little nuisance that goes along with beautiful peonies!
DeleteBEAUTIFUL!!! I have a question though. Does your table setting colors have to match your room colors. I have a red dining room (white trim) with red / gold / green drapes but I own a lovely set of blue willow china. Can I use the blue in the room??
ReplyDeleteLove following your blogs!!!
Julia
Julie... please don't limit yourself. Your tables should be any color you like. Go wild!
DeleteI soooo love your talent! You should think about writing a Tablescape Book! just beautiful.....

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love attending a gathering when it's apparent that the hostess has made it a point to set a beautiful table full of details. Perhaps my favorite pieces of your friend's table iare the feminine scalloped white napkins and the place cards. I love what she wrote.
Thanks for sharing with us!
Have a great weekend,
Suzanne
Amazing and Beautiful !
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, girly table that was! Your friends are learning from you!!!! 500 daffodils???? Where did you get them all???? All beautiful tables!
ReplyDeleteYvonne, you really must compile all of your ideas in to a book;) Stunning.. every one. I love the blue and white with the peonies. Your attention to detail is amazing! Have a wonderful weekend. xxleslie
ReplyDeletePretty tables, graced with beauty and love!! Just lovely, Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely the tablesetting is and the flowers just make it extra special. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the plates? They are beautiful!
ReplyDeletesuch a lovely idea, I love her tulip presentation!
ReplyDeleteJenna
These are so pretty...the flowers do give it a special touch and the scents must be divine!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Leslie....this would make a beautiful book for everyone to enjoy....as I scrolled thru your photos, it was like a walk down memory lane from my grandmother Bertha's tulips, my great aunt Mattie's lilly's of the valley and pansys, and the daffodils and iris that grew along side the winding farm road where I grew up....
ReplyDeleteThey're all gorgeous Yvonne!! The Blue Willow and peony is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteYvonne,
ReplyDeleteSpectacular, each and every table setting... So many beautiful ideas from which to choose. Monday Book Club is coming for lunch next week and each will have a flower at her place setting.
Just another vote for an Yvonne book... am willing to work as a proofreader/editor. :)
Judith
I know! I am such a bad speller and proof reader!
DeleteBeautiful table settings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, each one! I like to add a small bouquet or stem to each place setting. The Language of Flowers speaks to everyone. Thanks for sharing these settings. Everything you do is stunning, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautful. Great idea for a flower at each placesetting. Your PIN IT button is not working, (at least fr me)
ReplyDeleteI love all your tables capes and am slowing trying to have prettier tables, but what do you do with all the plates when you sit down to an actual meal?
ReplyDelete500 daffodils, that's amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnd you've got the art "down pat!"............ "Sighing"!!!
ReplyDeleteDear Yvonne,
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful post. Thank you, I can smell the lillies of the valley and the lilac! All the best from Austria
Elisabeth
Each and every table is stunning, but the lily of the valley stole my heart--they're my fav! I just finished setting my table with egg cups holding sweet little Snowdrops. I think I'll be able to use lily of the valley for Mother's Day, since Spring is so late this year!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely Yvonne! I admire that you take an extra step to present these flowers in such beautiful fashion. They are a pleasure to the eye and a joy to the heart!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Yvonne. It's the little things, isn't it that make all the difference!~~Angela
