Simple Sassy Summer Table

When it's too hot or you are too busy to fuss the best thing to add to a simple table is a little touch of sass!

The dictionary defines sassy as: lively, bold, spirited, cheeky.

Today's table is simply set with great, yet inexpensive dishes in a brilliant aqua and white. A little bit of black and white is added for a sassy fresh look!

I wanted to set a quick and simple table using everyday things that would still be fun, inviting and have a little WOW factor even though it was "fuss free".

Easy breezy straw mats (Bed, Bath And Beyond) in a deep aqua define each place. They are topped by a white chargers (HomeGoods) aqua and white floral dishes (HomeGoods) and a black and white checked plates. These dishes were sooooo inexpensive! The dinner plates were $3.00 a piece and the small dishes were $5.00 for all 4!

The aqua and white plates have a raised design that give it such textural interest! So pretty!

White ric-rac edged cotton napkins (Pier I) and black and white checked napkins work wonderfully together.  They are gathered up in white woven napkin rings.

Now this is SASS! Cute aqua daisies become part of the napkin ring!!!! The stems are pushed through the weaving in the napkin ring. Without water they will still last for hours.

Aqua bubble glasses (Bed Bath & Beyond) continue the "punch of color" theme!

My everyday coffee mugs (HomeGoods) sit on top of a small black and white floral accent plate.
Now that little plate has sass appeal!

The centerpiece is a white ironstone pitcher with 2 bunches of grocery store blooms in white, aqua and yellow. The pitcher sits on an iron base (Candle Barn). I have several of these bases. They come in handy as risers.

I would usually pass these flowers up as tacky... but these brilliant aqua dyed daisies look great with this table. They go from tacky to sassy with the right elements!

This easy-to-set table is ready for an easy menu too!
