Wrapping A Gift Card:

Giving people gifts is a great joy in life! And getting them isn't bad either! I always struggle with giving people a gift card or money. Preferring to give a personal gift that delights the recipient, I am constantly on the lookout for the perfect gift! But it is important and necessary to know the givee's likes and taste.

However, this is not always possible. And in the case of a wedding or graduation a monetary gift might be VERY appreciated.

So somethimes I say, thank goodness for gift cards and money gifts.

But how do we present a gift card or money in a way that shows that we spent some time and thought in the gift giving process? Most of us slip it into a card. Not that doing so is a bad thing... it's just doesn't make too much of a fuss! I think gift cards and money should be presented like the gifts they truely are. Wrapped up and tied with a bow!

Here is a creative way to wrap gift cards and money.

Little Lunchbox Gift Box:
little lunchbox from craft store
wired ribbon
silk flower
flower stickers
alphabet stickers
sparkles
glue gun
wire cutters
scissors

Use wire cutter to cut the stem off of a flower. Cut it all the way flush with the back of the flower. If needed glue layers of flower together. Glue sparkles in the center of flower.

Using a craft lunchbox, glue flower to the front of the lunchbox.

Glue ribbon around the side edge of the lunchbox. Emblish with stickers and sparkles. This is a girly gift!

Use alphabet stickers and write a message on the back of the lunchbox. Embellish with stickers and sparkles.

Tie with a ribbon.

Wouldn't this be adorable done as a honeymoon suitcase for a bride and groom? Write "Honeymoon Money" on the back.

Or done in the colors of a HS graduates college using the initials of their new school and mascot? A gift certificate to the bookstore would be a thoughtful gift.

I often give my friends  and family homemade gift certificates for food or parties. A little lunchbox would be so perfect to hold the certificate.

Remember to fill the inside of the lunchbox with tissue paper, crinkled shredded paper, or confetti along with the gift certificate or money. You could even write a little message on the inside lid!

How cute!

This little embellished tin could also hold jewerly, socks, candy and many other small items.

Be a creative gift giver!

  1. OMGosh, this is the ca-utest little box. You did an amazing job on it. I've noticed this "way with things" that you have...everything you touch turns to PRETTY. I love this idea and can't wait to see if I can find some of these little lunch boxes at our local craft stores. May can order them online?? We give our grands money or gift cards a lot and this is a perfect way to make them seem more like a gift. Thanks so much for the idea.

OOO, I am about to pitch a hissy fit for this amazing giveaway of yours. We would use it...a LOT.
I am a follower and I will post your giveaway on my sidebar. Thanks, Yvonne, for the generous chance to win.

Waiting for Lauren to wake up to show her your cute gift box. Hoping she will copy yours and I won't have to caution her to restrain herself from using everything on one box.

  18. Yvonne,

Congrats on your upcoming 200th post. What a great giveaway!!!!

Love the lunch box. Sure beats a gift card in an envelope.

Didn't know you loved Cosmos. Next time I'll call. Bit of a trip though.

  19. This is so cute! I cannot wait to use this idea! You have done it again!

I got inspired last night to make some ice cream. I so need this ice cream maker! Mine is just one step above the old style churn cranky type. 3 hours later the kids had ice cream. 3 hours of the bitty one standing over it saying "isn't it done yet"?

See I knew that you would have organized clutter! I too have every single paper that the kids have done in school. While yours are all organized and categorized, mine are just put into whichever box is closest to the stairs at the time! I think we need a giveaway to start it off. Wouldn't that be fun?
